We met Levi at the shelter and fell in love with him. He was scared (his owner surrendered him) and wasn't sure what was going on. All the volunteers were paying him extra attention to "warm" him up to his shelter time. They suggested a meet and greet at the shelter with our other dog and they got along. We were concerned if Levi would adjust after his abrupt departure from the home he knew. The shelter gave us tips of how to let our first dog still be the alpha dog and to get Levi adjusted. They told 3 days we would see big progress in Levis nervousness and they were correct. Levi now has a furever home & a playmate. In addition, the shelter got him neutered and his first shots were taken completed all for a very reasonable adoption fee.
I'm a foster momma. Any four legged creature is to be loved, but must admit that I'm really a kitty momma and am happy feeding those little furry babies who have lost their moms. My husband says he hates cats but guess what....he'll never admit that's not true although last kitty season, I'm bottle feeding 10 at once and struggling to remember who's been fed and who hasn't so started handing them to him to hold as I went through the group...when it was time for them to go to forever homes he wanted to know which we were going to keep and was broken hearted when I reminded him that they wouldn't alway be kittens.
