Garden of the Gods is a FREE city park! I worked as volunteer Information Specialist for 13 years, retiring in 2017, upon moving out of area. Facility is now owned by Garden of the Gods Foundation, and is non-profit. All the years I worked there it was great place to volunteer and meet new people, helping them understand History, Environment, Geology, Animal. They have a very active School program during the school months, that is very popular. The Visitors center has large display area with some interactive features. There are public presentations on all the different aspects of the park, as well as a Movie on its origin, and history. A walk down through the Central Garden is awe inspiring, however the midday summers can be very hot, take water, sun screen and a hat to protect yourself. There is limited parking and now they instituted some restriction in driving in the park. Go to: Gardenofgods.com for all information on visiting or volunteering. They always are looking for dedicated volunteers. If I were still living there I would still be volunteering.
