Mission: Gads Hill Center, a social service organization established in 1898, creates opportunities for children and their families to build a better life through education, access to resources and community engagement.
Results: Over the past five years, youth programs have kept over 1,500 elementary school children safe, healthy, and engaged in learning during the critical out-of-school time hours, and have helped over 1,000 middle and high school students stay in school and on the path to college.
GHC is also considered a leader in the field of early childhood education with programs that are structured by rigorous school readiness goals. Last year, 90% of children in center-based programs met or exceeded developmental benchmarks, demonstrating preparedness to enter kindergarten ready to learn. For 14 years, 100% of high schoolers in our college preparatory program have been accepted into college; our school-based mental health program has contributed to a 67% decrease in behavioral infractions this year.

Unfortunately, the programs at this organization have changed for the worse. They do not meet the needs of the program participants and their families. Upper management is too focused on getting money that does not align with the types of services the clients need. Additionally, staff are severely under appreciated and disrespected. Upper management instills fear in staff and uses threat tactics to get staff to work to their standards. Gads Hill Center has become one of the worst social service agencies to work for in comparison to other organizations.
