The Fuzzy Pet Foundation (TFPF) is truly an incredible organization that's doing outstanding work for animals in need. They earn every bit of these five stars and more!
My interaction with TFPF was nothing short of inspiring. Every member of their team exudes passion and dedication to their mission. Their love for the animals under their care is heartwarming and truly contagious.
One of the things I find most admirable about TFPF is their unique 'foster care' model. Instead of having a traditional shelter, TFPF ensures each animal is placed in a warm, nurturing foster home. It's so much more than a roof over their heads - it's a safe, loving environment that's conducive to their healing and well-being.
When it comes to pairing pets with potential adopters, the TFPF team is thorough and thoughtful. They take into consideration every detail: the pet's personality and needs, the adopter's lifestyle and preferences. They aim to find the perfect forever home for each animal, and from my experience, they hit the mark every time.
The transformations TFPF brings about in the animals they rescue are nothing short of miraculous. They embrace the difficult cases, providing extraordinary medical care, rehabilitation, and boundless love and patience.
But the reach of TFPF goes beyond rescuing and rehoming. Their mission is to "fix animal homelessness," and they live this every day. They actively educate the public about responsible pet ownership and tirelessly advocate for animal rights. This holistic approach truly sets them apart.
Engaging with TFPF has been such a rewarding experience for me. Their slogan says it all - they're on a mission to "fix animal homelessness," and they're achieving this one animal at a time. Whether you're considering adopting, volunteering, or donating, I wholeheartedly recommend The Fuzzy Pet Foundation. They're making a difference in the lives of animals and in the hearts of those who love them.
You cannot find a more experienced, ethical, compassionate rescue organization than The Fuzzy Pet Foundation. In 2008, my family and I adopted a special-needs Terrier named Toby from Sheila and her team. They saved Toby from an abusive situation where he was starved and beaten by his owners. He ended up with a skull fracture because of blunt force trauma. Sheila and her team did everything to help him medically and nurtured him to trust humans again. We helped Toby cross the rainbow bridge last year. We miss him terribly. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING TOBY INTO OUR LIVES, SHEILA & TFPF! YOU GUYS ARE TRULY SAINTS OF THIS WORLD!
I applied to adopt a pet from TFPF. I have a background in animal welfare and have always adopted rescued pets, plus, as a volunteer, I have rescued them. One of my dogs recently passed away, and I was ready to adopt another. It took two weeks to get back to me. When they did, a volunteer wrote that I would hear from them in a few days about having a meet-and-greet with the dog. Then nothing for another two weeks. So I sent a note asking if the dog was still available. I received an auto email back, which included this: "Please refrain from calling or sending us multiple e-mails as this will only delay the process. We are a volunteer-run organization and we are doing our best to respond to everyone in a timely manner. " So I sat back and waited. My two references and my vet were not contacted by the group, so I assumed I wasn't being considered. Then, after another week, I received an email that said they had received several applications for the dog, and she was going to meet a family that weekend. "If she does not get adopted," they wrote, "we will let you know." It made me feel as if I were second fiddle. In the meantime, I was informed about a rescued small dog in the same area, and I went ahead and adopted her. She's a sweetheart and so grateful, as am I. I did not hear back from TFPF, so I wrote them an email telling them I hadn't heard from them, that my references weren't contacted, and I assumed I was not in the running to adopt the dog, and that I found a another elsewhere, and adopted her instead. Not surprisingly, TFPF has not responded. Zero customer service, and no consideration for the people at the other end of the email.
Review from Guidestar
Takes way too much time and communication with them is difficult. I tried to use them, but I have heard nothing about my application. I have a loving home ready to give a pet a forever home, but it's been six weeks and no response. All I can think of is all the pets that get passed over because the process is just too long.
