Mission: Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu rescue is just one part of a growing network of rescue organizations dedicated to rescuing Shih Tzu all over the United States. Our group consists of caring volunteers dedicated to finding loving homes for Shih Tzu in need. These Shih Tzu have been found as unclaimed strays or abandoned, abused or neglected. They also come from owners who can't give them the care they need. There are 3 steps to rescue: Rescue, Foster and Placement. RESCUEThe first is, of course, the RESCUE. This is where our volunteers find out about a Shih Tzu in need through contacts with a local shelter, referrals from others, Internet resources, or simply from caring and concerned people. The volunteer will step forward and rescue the Shih Tzu and bring into foster care.FOSTERFostering is the second step. During the foster period our volunteers open up their hearts and homes to help care for the Shih Tzu until they can be placed in a safe and loving home that they all deserve. While in foster care the Shih Tzu is assessed and observed for any health conditions, medical needs, behavior and personality traits, and of course given tons and tons of love. This assessment allows us to find the perfect match for a new home. Also, during the foster period, all Shih Tzu are spayed or neutered.PLACEMENTPlacing a rescued Shih Tzu in a safe and loving home is a high priority. Besides assessing the Shih Tzu for its needs, we also assess potential homes to assure that the environment and caregivers will be able to provide the right balance of love and attention that each and every Shih Tzu deserves. We are always searching for that special person or family that is willing to open up their home and is ready to be smothered with love by these most wonderful animals.YOU CAN HELP!!UNTIL THERE ARE NONE, RESCUE ONE!
