Future Founders has an incredible mission and results! The staff and board leadership of this Chicago non-profit focus on driving student outcomes and ensuring every youth can become an entrepreneur, all while running like a bootstrapped startup. The programs evolve to ensure students have access to the most relevant mentors and skills they'll need to be successful. I've been involved as a volunteer for a few years and have been very impressed.

This non-profit, in theory, should be a great organization for students in high schools in Chicago but unfortunately it's not mainly because of one of the directors/founders. The program works with a lot of minority students yet there are people on the staff who are scared to be around black people in predominantly black high schools. The volunteers that they reach out to, the board, and the staff don't reflect the population they that they work with. The director is condescending to say the least. The college program does not reflect the high school program at all. Most of the people who receive this extra attention in to the college or even make the college program are white when only about 10% of the high school program is white. I've heard comments from the director that are derogatory and condescending towards EVERYONE. I think a restructuring is necessary if this organization is to survive. A new director is needed. One that actually likes the students that his organization is supposed to be helping and representing.
