Furry Friends introduced me to my sweet Henry, and it was love at first sight. They save so many animals, and make sure they are healthy, and loved in their new homes.
Every rescue group has a kind heart but this rescue prioritizes good holistic food for their dogs and cats. Also one of the very few that screens potential adopters very well with home visits and training requirements for puppies and home visits!
Furry Friends Rescue is an amazing all volunteer rescue group. Their dedicated volunteers go above and beyond when it comes to helping and rescuing cats and dogs. They all truly want what’s best for the animals.
This rescue really cares about its pups and is committed to finding great and furever homes for those in need!

I've been a Furry Friends Rescue volunteer photographer for over 5 years. I'm proud to be a part of this great dedicated team of volunteers who always put the needs of the pets first and work so hard to find the best forever homes for them.
I am a volunteer and adopter of a Furry Friends Rescue dog. I see all the time how much they love the dogs and cats. This rescue isn't about fast adoptions just to get the $$$ from the public. This rescue is about finding the best forever home for them and educating the public about holistic food and care to improve and extend the life of all dogs/cats. I hear all the time about how much better Furry Friends is than other rescues. People who really love their dogs and cats understand the extra mile that comes from Furry Friends Rescue volunteers and their careful processes to ensure the adopters understand what to do to care best for their new family member after adoption.
Dedicated to saving pets and placing them in loving homes. From proving them with the best of food to ensuring that their vet needs are taken care of, Furry Friends always puts the welfare and safety of these abandoned animals first. I am so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful and caring organization.
I volunteer with them as a dog foster parent They take great care to place dogs in the right homes, matching temperament, age, breed/mix, energy level, sociability for dog and their adoptive family.
I have been a foster home with Furry Friends Rescue for 7 years now and I can not say enough about the organization. They always and in every way, put the animals first and are diligent in vetting out potential adopters. I always know that I have a say in who adopts my foster dogs and that we will make sure not just during the adoption but going forward, that it is the right fit. Emily and team work tirelessly to navigate the very difficult job of raising money so that we can pay for extremely high vet bills and never have to turn an animal away. Whether you are looking to adopt or to volunteer, I could not recommend Furry Friends Rescue more highly.
Fabulous rescue group. Around ten years ago, after adopting a senior dog from FFR, I offered to volunteer and have been with them ever since. The team really cares for the welfare of the animals and the success of each forever home.
We got our first bay area dog, Sparky from FFR. Then 1-2 years later we started fostering. Now 17 years later we've fostered 97 dogs (include 4 littes) and just recently Lassie and her 6 GSD/Collie puppies)
Every foster until Sparky's passing was an extended playdate. Some fosters tooks a long time to adopt but most went quickly. A litter of puppies is the perfect stress buster for highschoolers dealing with finals.
I've been very impressed with the seriousness that FFR takes vetting potential adopters. I know from foster experience how traumatized a dog can get. Lassie was missing front teeth which we suspect was due to prolong crating and gnawing on bars. But with FFR's wisdom we've rehabilitated Lassie and she's doing well at her current foster.
FFR works hard and makes many informed choices that are best for canines and felines.
I adopted Hamlet and Nicholas from Furry Friends (Neo and Nicholas when adopted)! They were diligent in their adoption practices (application and home visit). They are the best cats and I would adopt again from them.
Furry Friends Rescue is a great organization that always puts the welfare of the rescued cats and dogs as its top priority. They work with the public and interested adopters in learning how to provide the best care for the animals.
Provisions, vet care and high-quality food are all provided by FFR to ensure optimal care for the animals. They do home visits for every foster home and adopter to ensure that the animals are being cared for in a suitable environment.
As a foster home myself, I know firsthand how fun and easy it is join. Obligations aren't excessively strict in terms of time and effort as long as the animals are safe and healthy. The only requirement is that you be available to bring your foster animal to showcase events so it can get some exposure to potential adopters as well as help educate interested members of the public on caring for dogs and cats that may have special needs.
The volunteers are friendly and enjoy themselves as they help in a good cause. It's all about teamwork! The junior volunteers are have a great attitude. They are always happy to help, learn and take instruction from the adults.
Furry Friends Rescue provides a safe, positive environment for both humans and animals alike. With its commitment to saving at-risk animals and operating properly "by-the-book," it's absolutely no wonder that FFR has continued to grow and thrive since it's start in 1998.
Furry Friends Rescue is a great non-profit all volunteer organization with wonderful and dedicated volunteers that rescue dogs and cats of all ages (young to senior) and special medical needs. Often, FFR is the last resort for these senior and medical needy animals. They home foster over 100 dogs and cats year round and truly care about their animals for life. All volunteers who's primary mission is to save and take care of over 1000 animals per year. No shelter and no office. Funds go directly to support the dog or cats we rescue.
