What an excellent group of people, always looking for the best care and home for each animal.
FFR inc is an excellent organization. They are one of the most dedicated small group of people I have ever seen! They have helped so many animals get on the road to recovery and/or find their new homes!!
So incredibly wonderful to know this Connecticut-based non-profit agency dedicated to help re-home “at-risk” dogs, who are sadly on the list to be extinguished become adopted, exists❣️
Your extremely high success rate of finding forever furry homes for these poochies says it all ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for these incredibly awesome saves of so many loving dogs who just needed a second chance, and got it through your efforts, awww
The organization shows a passion for rescue dogs and an enthusiasm for the mission that inspires others. The persistence and energy in getting the needs of these beautiful four-legged friends met has, I am certain, contributed to the happiness of many of these animals. Dogs are treated with warmth and welcome and care.
I rescued both of my babies from FFFR, one of which was a foster failure. They have a great network of caring volunteers and truly do what they can to help all they can!
Furry Friends helped us through a difficult time when we were forced to re-home our beloved dog Summer. They found her a wonderful home and made a devastating decision just a little easier. Thank you for your hardwork and for taking in our sweet girl!
I found it so enjoyable working with this rescue, i joined the board! Three years ago and I don't regret a minute. This rescue has some of the most diverse and committed members and volunteers!
My husband and I worked with several fosters from Furry Friends until my fur baby from Golden Rescue passed. At that point I could no longer accept saying good bye. We received a Shi Tsu, Peanut, whom we renamed Calvin. He had Lyme, eye and ear infections that needed to be cleared. Finally he was neutered, and we could say we were a foster fail. He’s been a wonderful companion, though needs calming for thunder storms and and fireworks. His being a very cuddly lap dog helps. We are very impressed with Furry Friends professionalism and support. Calvin is part of our home and our lives. He has lots of other dogs to bark at, plus kids, school buses and of course, the postal carrier. I can see how Shih Tsu protected, and were pampered by, Chinese Emperors. We are grateful to Furry Friends for making this fur baby available to us.
I fostered 3 kittens for them a few years back. They were very supportive and easy to work with. They found the kittens wonderful homes. Two were even adopted together!! Fast forward a few years...we lost our dear yellow lab to old age this spring. Our hearts and house felt so lonely. Once we were ready for a four legged friend again we decided we wanted to foster to help some unfortunate souls. And we knew it would be with Furry friends. We had strict criteria...good with kids, good with cats, and NO PITBULLS! So who did we end up with...the most amazing Pitbull ever. Furry friends volunteers were so extremely helpful in helping us transition a foster dog into our home. After a few days, we knew we couldn’t let him go. And the day before the big day, the unthinkable happened. Charlie jumped out of my car and was hit by another. I still have nightmares. Thankfully Charlie is ok but not without the countless late night hours from the volunteers and rescue vet to make sure Charlie received the best care. We are forever grateful to furry friends for opening our eyes to the amazing Pitbull breed. I will forever be their advocate. And we are looking forward to fostering more dogs for them in the future.
I'm a volunteer with this rescue and we've fostered several dogs and adopted one all through Furry Friends! They are an excellent organization with caring people that I'm happy to be a part of!
My family of 7 are all HUGE animal lovers! We have a house full of well-loved pets; several of which have been rescued from less than lovely situations. We came across a dog in desperate need on the Furry Friends site, but the dog was already snatched by another rescue. However, there were several other dogs in need of a loving home, especially a pit bull named Charlie Brown. At first we were a bit hesitant because we didn't know anything about pit bulls, (other than what you hear on the news), but Furry Friends assured us that they spend considerable time with each dog in order to know the dog and match them with the perfect family. They said Charlie Brown was wonderful, so we gave it a whirl...My other dogs we great with him and "Charles" was super sensitive to my geriatric dog. Charles, by far has proved to be the most loving dog I've ever had...and I've had plenty! Furry Friends is passionate about matching the right dog with the right family for everyone's benefit!
I have been volunteering and fostering for FFFR for over 2 years. I have worked with many rescues over the years and FFFR is one of the best I have worked with. We have had many fosters who have found their furever homes thanks to Furry Friends.
We have a 4 year old Rottweiler which two years ago we were looking for a friend for him. My husband and I wanted to give another dog a home that needed one. We were looking for a female dog that was older than our boy hoping that it would be a better match for him. We had fostered another dog that was the same age and a puppy both that were not good for him. I had come across adorable photo of Rosey a pit-bull from Furry Friends Foster and Rescue. I fell in love and so did my husband. We went though the process and sadly she was adopted to another family. Not to long after we received a call saying that Rosey was not a good match for their family, true to their word Furry Friends always takes back the dog if the situation does not work out. When we were called it was July 4th, and we said yes bring her over!! Furry Friends had done the meet and greet and the integration with the dogs. It was not to long after that Stryker and Rosey have become best of friends. Shortly there after I started volunteering for the rescue myself. I found that it has given me purpose and filled my heart. I am now on the board of directors and am the executive assistant to the president and the executive board member., all because I had seen a cute photo of my now dog and the wonderful experience I had adopting from them.
I adopted my fur baby from Furry Friends. He was absolutely my best friend. When he got sick furry friends helped raise money for his medical bills. Since adopting my baby I started volunteering any way I can. This is absolutely an amazing rescue. This rescue is my second family.
FURRY FRIENDS is a fantastic organization that plays a big part in rescuing local animals. The animals they take in consist of both healthy as well as several that are in need of expenaive medical care. Its one of the most organized rescues that I have ever dealt with. It is because of them many animals are alive today and living as loved family members.
