I adopted my first Tuxedo kitten through FiuKids 2.5 yrs ago. She was one of three abandoned kittens. Her foster Mom was awesome. She bottle-fed those babies around the clock so they would sirvive. My kitten picked me when she was 5 weeks old ~ I’m so grateful she is in my life. My partner and I adopted another Tuxedo 2+ months ago. We are overjoyed with her. She and her brother had been dropped anonymously at the dog shelter when she was 5 weeks old. FurKids took great care of them. They were both adopted during the same weekend. This baby and my older Tuxedo have become extremely close ~ almost like mother and daughter. So sweet to watch them love each other, play together, and sleep together. Thank God, literally, for FurKids and these furbabies.

My experience at FurKids was nothing like the previous reviews. I obtained a small dog in February and spent $1000 in emergency veterinarian bill as I had two emergency veterinarian visits within the first month of obtaining this dog. I was given a pet out of quarantine, never notified of that information until after having the dog and the dog became extremely ill. The dog had no documentation of rabies immunization when I obtained the dog and which FurKids gave during a surgical procedure later. given I was promised reimbursement for Although they were with me throughout the process and promised to reimburse me for my additional expenses which they have not, I feel that my experience did not live up to my expectations#frustratedP
I first came to know Furkids when searching for an adoptable cat for my good friend who was looking for "a big boy Tuxedo". That Tuxedo, who later came to be known as Jack, turned out to be the feline love of my friend's life an instant part of her family. Since then, I became a Furkids volunteer and more than ten years later, am proud to be part of an organization and a team who really cares about every single cat and every single dog in its shelters. And it's that care and love are what help these animals find their forever homes -- forever homes that are right for both the animal and family. Thank you, Furkids, for helping foster the understanding that every pet's life matters. ~Kristin W.
I adopted a Furkid in 2008 (Maine coon) and supported the organization financially going forward from that time, participating in many of the Furkid events. I have been a volunteer with Furkids (cat shelter) for just under 2 years and love what Furkids accomplishes. I agree with the vision and believe it to be an outstanding nonprofit. I love visiting "my" cats every week!
I have been involved with Furkids for 11 years as a volunteer in several capacities. Furkids has always been a great experience and the work that they do, the amount they've grown, is incredible. The animals are safe with Furkids for their entire lives and when they are adopted, it is to forever, loving homes that meet the highest standard for our animals. We take in the difficult cases, we champion the unadoptables, and every animal is treated with love and care. It is a great place to volunteer and donate.
I've gotten 2 cats from Furkids and have volunteered over the last 9 years. Furkids is passionate and great at what they do!
I have been volunteering for, fostering dogs for and donating to Furkids for the past two years. They are a top notch organization that truly cares about making a difference in the life of dogs and cats in Georgia. Please see below to see a few of our fosters.
We have adopted 2 cats from Furkids and are impressed with their commitment to the animals' well being.
I've learned so much about cats and servers in so many roles that have been rewarding. I've been able to see the actual improvement that I've made on a few cat's lives and I get such great joy from having that opportunity.
Furkids was exceptional. I appreciate how diligent they were in ensuring my new little man was coming to a home where he'd be taken care of and welcomed. Not every agency will check with your landlord that pets are accepted and with your vet if you already have pets. I'm really glad they do. The volunteers were kind and patient and you can tell they really love the animals. I highly recommend them!
I volunteered with Furkids from 2003 to 2007, when I moved to Minnesota. I adopted my beloved dog, Priscilla from Furkids in 2007. She was a "foster failure." I fostered several cats/kittens and dogs for Furkids and they truly have the best support network for fosters and adopters. I am so proud that I was with this organization when they built their amazing shelter and consider then to be a best in class animal rescue
I adopted both of my dogs, Willow and Annie, from SmallDog Rescue (now Furkids). I was so impressed with the organization, that when I retired 3 years ago I started volunteering with Furkids. I am constantly amazed at the number of animals that are saved by Furkids and the efforts that Furkids makes to ensure that not only the rescued dogs are well taken care of, but that the adopters are perfect matches for the dogs. I recommend adopting from Furkids to anyone who expresses an interest in getting a pet. I also recommend volunteering with Furkids because what I get from volunteering is so much more than what I give.
This is a great organization. I have friends who have adopted several pets from FurKids and they raved about this charity.
The first time that I visited Furkids, I was blown away by the quality of care and the passion of the staff. These animals are so well cared for and the people are so dedicated to finding them good forever homes. I cannot recommend this organization enough!
Rescue is a really tough business, and Furkids is obviously doing it right. While so many rescues have come and gone through the years, they have continued to save countless lives and educate the community. I meet people all the time who adopted their pet from Furkids, it's just amazing how far their reach goes across metro Atlanta over the many years. Wonderful example of a nonprofit and of an animal welfare organization.
I have been fortunate enough to meet two individuals that are passionate about Furkids. They introduced me to this WONDERFUL organization that continues to battle for those who can not stand up for themselves, animals. This organization feverishly raises money to get animals spayed and neutered and find forever homes" for these helpless creatures. They also raise much needed awareness to the plight of homeless animals. They just recently moved facilities to be able accommodate even more animals. This new outfit contains many positive attributes such as LARGE spaces for these animals to stretch their legs and plenty of toys for them to play with. Along with knowledgable volunteers. I'm honored to give what I can to this unique group and will continue to give because of the help they give in return to animals. PLEASE give what you can because they need all the help they can get. Furkids is my favorite shelter. They always do everything they can to help sick and injured animals. Love furkids and will always support them! (they also have the best names for their little furbabies!
I have been involved with Furkids for 13 years, and I am honored to serve as a volunteer and board member. I can not express the appreciation and admiration I have for this organization adequately. They save thousands of animals a year, and they help countless more. If you live in or around Atlanta, I encourage you to visit the shelters to see for yourself the incredible work they do.
The simple act of adopting a cat opened the door to a rewarding volunteer experience with Furkids, one of the most well-run, professional nonprofit organizations I've ever encountered. What makes Furkids different from other rescue organizations? The staff and volunteers operate with integrity, unbelievable dedication, and they keep the best needs of the animals at the forefront of everything they do. Furkids has grown rapidly, and it's a testament to the quality of the people who serve the organization. At first, I thought the adoption process was a little stringent, but now, I realize that Furkids sincerely wants to make the best match for the animal and the adoptive family. Today, we have progressed through adopting, serving as foster caregivers for a homeless dog (and we adopted that dog....) and volunteering. Through the experience, we became Furkids fans.
I've had several friends adopt cats from Furkids. Each adoption has been a very positive experience, with the staff available for questions and concerns even after the adoption process. I recently adopted a kitten from Furkids, which came from a litter that had been abandoned at the shelter. She had a few minor health issues, which Furkids was always available to help me with. Unfortunately, when you get animals that have been abandoned, you never know where they came from. Nonetheless, the kitten was raised for a few weeks in a foster home. She is an amazing animal, a most friendly, sweet, and fun kitty. She absolutely loves people-she never meets a stranger. The foster home did a great job with her. I will continue to recommend and support Furkids.
Furkids is run by a small , paid dedicated staff and hundreds of devoted, hard working volunteers who take their investment of time and energy on behalf of fostering and caring for rescue kitties, cats and dogs compassionately and seriously. I adopted a kitty from Furkids, I have been in investing in several non profits from volunteer to member of various boards. I am so grateful and honored to be a client and donor/ supporter of Furkids.
From their regularly updated website with thorough profiles of their ever changing rescues, to their volunteers handling operations with team coordinators at Furkids' numerous on site adoption satellites to a thrift store to compassionate fosters , FURKIDS is an incredible non profit for our entire state! , I encourage others to adopt from and support FURKIDS on a regular basis.

I learned about Furkids a long time ago when I adopted a cat. They are a no-kill animal shelter with cats and small dogs. The animals absolutely come first and the founder Sam Shelton is completely dedicated to the well-being of the cats and dogs. We recently adopted a pair of kittens that had been in an amazing foster home at Furkids. They were well-cared for, clean and had total vet care, plus they are delightful. We will support Furkids as long as they are around.
