I first learned about FWAB when I was in Cambodia and our guide told us how the lives of so many of his friends' children had been saved because of the FWAB hospital there. I later discovered the administrative office for FWAB to be located near where I live in New York City and I have been volunteering ever since. I have never met a more dedicated group of workers and volunteers. The model is to create a locally-sustainable and independent hospital after the initial start-up period. Today, 98% of the more than 500 staff at Angkor Hospital for Children Cambodia are Cambodian. In 2015, FWAB opened another pediatric hospital, this time in Laos.
The Angkor Hospital for Children is a remarkable organization. AHC is an inspiration for those who care about children, health care and humanity in general. If you get a chance, visit for yourself.
