Causes: Recreation & Sports, Sports
Mission: Bring awareness to the public for accepting children with disabilities in the workforce and personal functions. This is accomplished by sponsoring sporting events (bowling, baseball and fishing) which strives for family togetherness for families with and without children with disabilities.
Programs: The bowling program meets every other saturday from september through may. There are no limitations on who can participate. Approximately 100 children with and without disabilities have participated learning to respect and appreciate each other.
a baseball league consisting of approximately 35 children and volunteers. Games are played on saturdays in april thorugh july. The exposure with the public will help break the barriers and perceptions that children with disabilities cannot interact with children without disabilities.
a fishing tournament for children is held each year. Participants included children with and without disabilities. Again the purpose is to expose the public to children with disabilities to help break the barriers and perceptions that children with disabilities cannot interact with children without disabilities.
