I love this zoo and I love the Friends for all the services it enables the zoo to provide!! For a small zoo, its jammed packed with unusual animals that you get to see close up. The staff are friendly and full of information! The animals seem healthy and contented! With the help of the Friends, the zoo is able to offer enrichment activities for the animals and visitors throughout the year. The Friends have helped make the Zoo a great place to spend a morning or an afternoon - with or without grandchildren!
This is the perfect zoo to take your kids to get an amazing experience with exotic animals in a safe environment. The Friends put together fun and exciting events that include educational animal encounters while visiting booths from local businesses and artists. There are programs that get the community involved and teach ways to help the environment from your own home. The size and location make the zoo just right for a family outing that everyone can enjoy. The Friends are able to make connections with other community businesses so you can go straight from enjoying one event to the next. The animals that are on exhibit are some you'll see at few other zoos, including a fossa from Madagascar that is very active first thing in the morning and the Friends work hard to get donations for enrichment for him and the rest of the animals to keep them entertained throughout the day.
The Friends of the Charles Paddock Zoo is fully committed to supporting Educational and Conservation efforts at the Charles Paddock Zoo. Through engaging the community through events, activities and educational programs, they aim to increase the awareness in topics such as sustainability, biodiversity and conservation.
