Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To make the Seelyville, and Lost creek Township, a better place to live, work, and play. To encourage and support activities that are in keeping with that goal. And to bring a stronger sense of community to the area through community activities and projects.
Results: We have began holding annual community activities, such as quilt and hobby shows, and have funded new playground equipment for the Town Park. Our current project is to raise funds for a Community Center for the Township.
Target demographics: Residentsof Seelyville, and the area of eastern Lost Creek Township. The income level is at or below the HUD low income level. The eastern Lost Creek and Seelyville area is part of a greater depressed area that has seen its ecomony change from heavy industry and mining to service oriented and education based industry. A study done in the mid 1970s stated that the Terre Haute area was stagnant as far as growth goes, and that has not changed after some 30 plus years.
