Here at the Salvation Army Emergency Shelter we have an average of 45 children living with us. When they arrive they are usually carrying everything that they own in their arms. Santa Clause Inc is only a phone call away. The have provided us with clothing, school supplies, shoes and even baby supplies. Last week they gave us two strollers. They are constantly asking us how we can help and bringing us supplies that we could not get any other way. They have a heart for the children and their parents. The mothers are also regular recipients of gifts of clothing and shoes that assist them with becoming vital, active members of our community again. I cannot say enough about our Santa Clause Inc family.
Santa Claus Inc. has been a great asset to our non profit Seeds of Hope and the community we serve. We could not do what we do if not for organizations such as SCI. Our yearly Christmas giveaway has been a success because of their partnership not only during the holidays but throughout the year. Thank you SCI for all that you do..... Many Christians have a problem with Santa Claus. I don't. I remember all the things my parents did to make Christmas special, and those precious memories often helped sustain my faith in difficult times. Santa Claus was a part of that. The problem I do have with Santa Claus is the knowledge that not all children will receive according to their merits. The financial well-being of the parents will ensure that some children receive far more than others -- and that just isn't fair. Well, that's the way the world is, but there are some very special people around that world who work to do their share to right wrongs and minimize unfairness, and the volunteers at Santa Claus, Inc., in San Bernardino, California, are bright, shining examples of this. For over half a century, they have worked hard to share the joy of Christmas with children and families who wouldn't otherwise experience much joy during the season of joy. Thanks to Santa Claus, Inc., tens of thousands of children haven't had to wonder why they were left behind; and tens of thousands of parents haven't had to feel the pangs associated with feeling like they failed their kids. The efforts of these wonderful volunteers shine brighter than the star on any Christmas tree, and I hope you will recognize their efforts.
