Thank you for the amazing dedication and care for the community cats around the campus! They have been doing a wonderful work in the past years!
I nave seen volunteers from SACCATS coming in during the holidays, college closures, in cold, wind, and rain. They are amazing. So many cats have been saved and are being cared for.
This type of dedication shows the empathy and kindness of our SAC community.
Their kindness extends to all living things.
Please help support their dedication.
I really love how Michelle and the SAC staff have helped the cat community at San Antonio College. It is hard work and dedication. They come early in the morning, after hours and weekends to feed the cats and provide shelter during the winter weather. I give them a shout out!!!
As a San Antonio College faculty member, I can attest to the amazing care and dedication of SACCCATS volunteers over the years. Volunteers organized to feed cats daily at established food stations around campus when the campus was closed due to COVID-19, and they continued this schedule after the campus opened. The volunteers monitor the health of cats, take injured or sick cats to the vet, and then nurse them at home before returning to campus. They seek opportunities to adopt the more friendly cats to good homes. As new cats and kittens appear on campus, they work to trap, neuter, and return the cats to the property. The volunteers pay for food and vet expenses out of pocket and invest many hours in feeding, managing, trapping, and treating sick or injured animals. It is an endless job, that they approach with love and loyalty to animals.
The staff/faculty here has done great changes in providing food and water here at SAC! If it wasn't for them the cats here would not survive as they rely on the food here every day, thank you SACCATS!
SACCCATS is supported by faculty and staff members at San Antonio College. The most active people of the group not only feed and water the cats, but, in the interest of healthy animals, watch carefully for new arrivals, have reached into their own pockets to provide veterinary care, fostering, and daily interaction whether the college is open or not, especially during the winter break. As a nonprofit which cares for cats on our campus, participants work by word of mouth, some clever email messages with photos, and via good humor to entice others to join in and assist. SACCCATS models caring behaviors which show the campus community how to be kind and considerate in this world, which we certainly can use more of!!
I am so happy to have this organization on our campus! They do a tremendous service to our community by feeding the feral cats on campus, providing excellent medical care, getting the cats spayed/neutered and vaccinated, and promoting adoption of the tamer animals. It’s a small group of dedicated volunteers who truly love cats. Administrators, faculty, staff, and students all participate. Their passion and tireless dedication has saved hundreds of cats and made our college a better place. I’m always happy to donate for medical expenses and provide food whenever I can.
Cats are well taken care of! They are friendly, well fed, and taken care of even in the extreme weather Texas receives.
SACCCATS is a collective of San Antonio employees and community members who feed our SAC community cats and keep them healthy by taking them to the veterinarian or finding them furever homes.
In the event of a loss, they do the hard emotional work of proper burial. For years, these individuals have compassionately cared for these lovely cats with great heart and with personal monetary contributions, countless hours have been dedicated to this cause.
Thank you for all you do to keep our SAC community cats healthy and happy. And, thank you for being determined to become a non-profit to better serve these kitties!
Go Michelle, Qin, Elva, and many others!
Go, SACCCATS!
I have been a follower of SACCCATS for three years and a instantly became devoted to this beautiful black cat whose name is Connor. I would feed him every morning and every evening. One day I received a text message from Michelle that Connor had been taken to the Vet for an infection on one of his back paws and they needed someone to watch him for a few days. Needless to say I agreed immediately, and after having him for a couple of days I knew he was home. I adopted Connor and his is now a very happy, healthy and lovable three year old. I can't thank SACCCATS enough for all that they do for our feline friends on campus.
I have been at San Antonio College for eight years and have never seen more dedicated advocates for the many abandoned animals on campus. These individuals come out to feed rain, shine, hot or cold, and NEVER complain. They were working overtime during COVID-19 and the huge freeze to make sure the cats were taken care of and tried desperately to find forever homes for each one. They pay out of their own pockets for the health care of the beautiful kitties and have never said no to a procedure. The students love the kitties, and we are all so grateful for SACCCATS!
Friends of SACCCATS is the epitome of love through action. The compassion and dedication that they extend to all animals at the college and in the community is an example that we should all follow. They are on campus at all hours, making sure the cats are fed and being looked after, especially those that are sick or injured, while also looking for forever homes for them.
When i started going to school at SAC i saw many cats roaming the campus, i was worried that they were in danger, or hungry, or that they would have more kittens and perpetuate the cycle of cats without homes. Then i found out about this organization that does so much for them. Just knowing that someone is taking care of the cats who live near the San Antonio College campus really brings me peace of mind. SACCCATS makes sure these kitties have medical care, food, water, and shelter. Please support them in anyway you can.
