I started volunteering with FRAs in Feb 24 and now I cannot imagine not being a part of the organization. The support they give the community is immeasurable. Everyone involved in this organization truly cares
deeply for all of the animals. The president of FRAs works tirelessly to initiate programs and inventive ways to get the message out to the community. FRAs is 100% volunteer based so every dollar goes to animals.

My husband and I started volunteering with FRAs as something to do together because we love animals. I have never formally volunteered with an organization before and I am so glad that I am a part of it. We have become "the cat people" and typically work exclusively with cats and being able to see how FRAs does not give up on the cats that are scared and aggressive toward people but instead the cats are enrolled in a program to correct the behavior and find them homes. I highly recommend FRAs as an organization to be involved with and look forward to the future.

I was introduced to FRAs by a friend who found abandoned kittens in the snow in February 2021. Amazingly impressive how FRAs provided support for her keeping these babies alive (she foster failed with them). After the loss of our kitty, we decided to foster - we also failed. I am most proud that we are 100% volunteer based. Lots of excitement this year surrounding our Transport of shelter dogs out of state and Community Cat Fix Days.

Driven by my love for animals, I began volunteering with Friends of Rescue Animals nearly two years ago, and it’s been a whirlwind of purpose and passion! There are endless ways to make a difference with FRAs—whether it’s walking shelter dogs, assisting at adoption events, or handling the countless tasks in between. This organization is truly remarkable, working tirelessly to save and support animals every single day, and the volunteers here are nothing short of incredible. I feel like I’m part of a family, united by our commitment to giving these shelter animals the lives they deserve.

My husband and I love animals and thought it would be such a great way to help and feel good! We love the group. We've become fosters since starting volunteering and they make it incredibly easy! Everyone really cares and it shows.

After Friends of Rescue Animals helped me with a colony of 15 feral cats, I decided to start volunteering with them. They made a very stressful situation seamless through loaning traps and providing vouchers to cover the cost of spay/neuter and vaccinations. Our colony is now healthy and happy. I enjoy educating our community about the importance of TNR through FRAs!

A few years ago, I recued 3 kittens from the streets on my way to work. I kept one, of course, and the other two went to live with a friend of mine. At that moment I knew that I needed to do more.

By chance I meet a wonderful lady from FRAs, who helped me rescue more kitties while introducing me to her wonderful non-profit organization.

I've been volunteering for a few years now at FRAs as a donor, foster, cleaning and cuddling with cat/kitties at Pet-smart. Needless to say that I am a foster failure, one to many times, but I don't regret this a bit.

I am proud to be part of this wonderful organization who dedicates time and love to the animals in need.

My husband and I have been volunteering with FRAs for over two years, and we absolutely love it! The organization is incredibly well-organized and runs smoothly, thanks to the dedication of the leadership team. The president and vice president are both the brain and heart of FRAs, and their passion for the cause shines through in everything they do.

We’ve had the chance to try out different roles, and each experience has been rewarding and fun. The organization is flexible, allowing volunteers to explore and find their ideal fit, while always making you feel welcome and appreciated. It’s also a wonderful way to meet like-minded people who share the same love for animals.

FRAs has truly created a warm, supportive environment where we can make a difference and do what we love—helping animals. We couldn’t be happier. Thank you, FRAs, for all that you do!

I started volunteering with FRAs in 2014, and fast forward 10 years later, I am fully emersed in helping homeless animalsn in our community. The very first foster I brought home was a Beagle named Minnie. She captured my heart because she would not eat in the shelter, so I took her chicken and rice every day. I eventually brought her home to foster, and she never left. I evenutally switched to fostering cats/kittens, and I have since fostered over 850 cats and kittens with a focus on bottle baby kittens.

I have been a volunteer with Friends of Rescue Animals for two years now and in those two years I have seen them take on more and more programs and services to help animals. They staff volunteer with the Rowlett Animal Shelter and the Garland Animal Shelter and have volunteers at multiple PetSmarts. But what really shines is their dedication to helping animals not only find homes, but helping those who will be forever homeless, such as feral (aka community cats). They are working towards offering free neutering and spaying for community cats once a month to help with outdoor populations. They make sure dogs at the shelters can get heartworm treatment immediately and continue to cover the cost if the dog is adopted during treatment. They sponsor events to help dogs get adopted and work with the shelters and communities doing more and more. Every month there's many opportunities for volunteers to get involved from adoption events to reading to the cats and dogs or photo events and even ones where dogs are the artists, creating paintings. They are not a stagnant organization, content with where they are. They constantly try new things to make the lives of animals and the people who love them better.

I began volunteering with this organization, 3 years ago. Having retired from corporate world, wanted to be involved volunteering. Friends of Rescue Animals was the perfect fit. There is such a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. I found myself being involved in everything from walking shelter dogs, to helping with data records, adoption events, fundraising, and many other areas. Ultimately serving on the BOD. This is the absolute best non profit whose goal is to better the lives of homeless animals in the communities it serves.

After losing my elderly cat to kidney failure, I found myself missing the cuddles of my furry companion. I decided to volunteer at FRA and have been very happy to be able to help ownerless cats find loving homes. I get enormous satisfaction helping the FRA organization.

I have volunteered with this non-profit for a little over2 years. I took some time off, and I am so pleased to be back now! They work so hard to benefit the homeless animals in our community, and that spreads to surrounding communities, too. A huge effort is made by leadership to make sure transactions are transparent and fair. Volunteers are encouraged to do what they want to, and, to try things outside of their plan, to see if new and different activities appeal to them. Love of animals can be a very strong passion for folks. This rescue manages to find and seek the very best interest of the animal. Two municipal shelters, one large, and one small, are heavily supported. Two retail stores house and adopt out cats from the Cat Rescue Program. There are many dogs who now live heartworm negatively, in loving homes, due to their impact. There are fantastic systems in place to make sure every volunteer knows what's expected of them and where they stand. Nobody is uncertain. We can ask a question on a hotline and get an answer. Some pics of me captured with dogs who have been helped by this organization. An, adoption event, and a photo shoot. I have so many photos of fellow volunteers enjoying themselves with animals.
