Mission: Foroh's mission is to "honor veterans, their heritage, and the legacy of veteran health care; to provide veteran benefit information; to highlight the architectural and cultural history of the national soldiers home historic district in milwaukee, wisconsin through education, public events, and the promotion of respect and awareness.
Programs: A "va patient preview" allows a group of patients, who are accompanied by caretakers, to preview the roh event and have an opportunity for learning about the civil war era. A "positively patriotic parade" somewhat unique in its nature, celebrates the legacy of veterans and gives honor to those who proudly participate as well as to those not present. All of these projects are funded through various fund raising events during the fiscal year of the organization. (one year suspension in 2013)
a "civil war school day" attracts over six-hundred middle school students and their teachers for an experiential learning field trip during the day prior to opening roh to the public. Re-enactors provide hands-on experience while the students are being educated. (one year suspension in 2013)
