This was implemented through a rotary grant in 2017, the first year of implementation in naivasha showed a 50% reduction in infant deaths from asphyxia which is the leading cause of death for newborns. In 2017 that program was expanded to ncrh and the outlying community of the 13 outlying health facilities. This program was done to assure early referral and to initiate early interventions to assure best outcomes for babies.
