This nonprofit is a life saver to so many foster and relative caregivers in the community. The staff of this agency, although small, do the work of a team of 20. There is no other nonprofit that is as dedicated to the population they serve or work as hard as this team does. The nonprofit thinks outside of the box and can make a dollar stretch further than any other. Please consider donating to this nonprofit as every dollar helps a child who has been removed from their home through no fault of their own.
I am a Guardian ad Litem in Palm Beach County and we work in partnership with Friends of Foster Children. I have never seen such a dedicated team create such incredible opportunities for foster children. I don't know how they do it, but they provide holiday wishlists to all the children in care, have a WinterFest carnival with crafts and more, tennis lessons, trainings, clothing closet, emergency bags and more. As guardians we are allowed to get items for our families, I have been able to secure a placement with a relative by Friends of Foster Children providing new bunk beds (delivered and assembled), furniture, clothes and more. I've been able to take strollers, bouncers, books and toys to families that need them and all this is free. Picture is from the 2016 fair.
I became a Foster Parent in 2007. I was put in contact with an organization that helped Foster Parents and Foster kids with training, emotional support, and so much more. They treat you as though you are a family member and they bend over backwards to make the lives of these kids better. They have what they call the "closet". The closet is where you can shop for clothing, shoes, toys, stuffed animals, everything to make the kids lives a little less sad. You have to remember that foster kids come to you with the clothes on their backs. They have had to leave everything behind (clothes, shoes, stuffed animals, pets, friends, etc.) They work so hard with so little. They even get organizations to donate fair tickets, water slide tickets, and so much more that eases the pain of being taken from their birth parents and family. The hardest point is where they even lose their siblings due to the low number of foster homes. With their guidance, i adopted 3 boys (siblings) and am forever grateful for all the support, parenting classes and much, much more that they provide free for these kids. I never had to pay for the services we received. Even the "closet" is free, they never ask for anything, they are just there to support those in the foster care system. Please donate to this fantastic organization so they can continue to provide for all these kids who didn't chose to be in foster care, these kids had their worlds turned upside down. Even though i don't have foster children any longer, i am still part of their family and will forever be........Thank you David M, Lake Worth, FL
We started our foster care journey in 2009. From the very beginning Friends of Foster Care has been a life saver!
Where do I begin? We fostered and adopted 2 children from foster care, what a loving experience.
Friends of Foster Care helped us tremendously. From getting us clothing, car seats, cribs, school uniforms, etc...They were there when I needed them.
All the events they offer the kids and parents warms our hearts. From Winterfest (every yr) to back to school every event is bigger than the last one.
All the staff and volunteers are so helpful and always available. Always with a smile on their faces. I also donate when I can. Anything helps.
Be a part of a loving family and help the kids of foster care.
