Mission: Friends of Baltimore County Dogs is a non profit whose mission is to help the homeless shelter dogs in the Baltimore County and surrounding areas. We provide convenience items, necessities, medical care, toys, treats and other items to help with their stay in the shelter. We provide our rescue partners with funds needed to take our dogs in, give them an opportunity for adoption and a better life. If medical needs or training are necessary our goal is to help provide that.
Results: Our efforts have resulted in dogs going to a new home after benefiting from the supplies we provide, the training that we work on with them so they can be the best they can be and from the medical supplies we have purchased. Contacting our rescue partners with a plan to help the dogs that need medical care in order to be adoptable, then funding the care so the rescue can concentrate on other dogs and issues. We take the pressure off them and give them the ability to help more dogs, which helps them with their missions.
Target demographics: the homeless/shelter dogs.
Direct beneficiaries per year: all the adoptable shelter dogs and the dogs that need rescue because of training or medical intervention.
Geographic areas served: volunteer in our local municipal shelter, BCAS.
Programs: our goal is to help with the daily necessities any dog will need, toys, enrichment, supplies, treats, collars, harnesses, attention, walks, training behavior modification, advocacy. Helping rescues pull our dogs that need medical care, otherwise making them unadoptable directly to the public. These rescues then find the best possible homes for the dogs. We also purchase medical equipment that the shelter needs resulting in the best possible outcome for the animals.
