I had the privilege of flying with these great people on Saturday, 4 August, in Orange Beach, AL. As an old Marine Corps helicopter guy I heard the turbine spooling up as I got out of my car in the nearby hotel parking lot and then the sound of those blades beating the air into submission brought back that old feeling and the race to my heart. I readily paid my $50 and put my name on the manifest and awaited my time in the seat.
I asked about flying in the gun seat were so many brave young men sat and braved so much for this country. It was an honor to fly there even for a brief time. Thank you all for the great day and a chance to relive a small part of my past.
This is your opportunity to live a part of history and to experience a historic aircraft in a way that no museum will ever let you.
