Mission: Friends for folks uses oklahoma correctional inmates to train abandoned and abused dogs as companion pets for special needs owners, a program that seeks to heal the inmate, the dog, and the new owner through the power of positive self-worth. Inmate trainers also provide training for private dog owners dealing with pet behavior issues for a fee to the pet owner. Additionally, we work to help children of inmates overcome feelings of shame and abandonment.
Programs: The dog training program was established to help those who are incarcerated and those impacted by incarceration through comprehensive dog training. Friends for folks is building a 500,000 training facility at mable bassett correctional facility.
