Causes: Education, Secondary & High Schools
Mission: The organization's mission is to create and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the various groups of the instrumental music department of freedom high school and keep them at the highest degree of efficiency by raising money through fundraising events for equipment purchases, uniforms, and musical training. The organization also performs fundraising events that allow the groups to travel and to provide participant recognition through a banquet, scholarships, and awards. Refreshments are also provided by the organization at various group functions.
Programs: Travel - allowed the groups to travel to the bahamas that included performances as well as a trip to new york city for seniors.
banquet - provided a night to recognize all of the participants.
musical training - paid for private drum instruction, private drum major instruction, and private drill design.
uniforms - provided gowns and tuxedos to be used by the orchestra in their performances as well as supplies to mend band uniforms.
scholarships - provided (8) $250. 00 college scholarships to deserving student participants in the organization.
equipment purchases - purchaed cymbals, an ipad, and (6) walkie-talkies and chargers.
awards - provided plagues, flowers, trophies, and (1) cash award to recognize the student participants.
refreshments - provided refreshments for a preview night, a joint luncheon for the bands at the final football game of the year, and a pizza party after the orchestra's performance at the national honor society induction ceremony.
