This program has benefited me in so many ways. I came to Dr. Cole to see if I could get some relief from some stress I was experiencing. He said he could work in that and asked what other issues I was having. I was surprised to learn he could treat me for the severe heartburn I was having and that he could also provide relief for my lifelong sinus complaints. After only a few sessions my heartburn was gone, my sinuses were clear, and I no longer had sugar cravings. I began dropping pounds without thinking about it and had much more energy than I had felt in years. I have been getting regular treatments for just over a year and would never have been able to afford the normal cost of acupuncture on such a regular basis. I'm 75 years old, 15 pounds lighter than one year ago, and feel better than I did 10 years ago. Thank you, Dr. Cole, for founding Free Range Health and making my life so much better.
As a volunteer at Free Range Health Clinic in Mountlake Terrace, I get to know and see the patients of the clinic. I see people hobble in – and dance their way out! (OK, this is not everyone, but it does happen!) I do see/hear these folks say that they can't wait until Friday for the relief they get from the acupuncture treatment. I also get to hear Cole Alexander and Kristan Rutski talk with the patients. The love and care they portray, in itself makes me show up! What a healing tonic when the warm reception meets you at the door from these caring doctors.
I do hear about people whose symptoms are so bad and the relief they get from acupuncture so great that they are able to attend two clinics in a week. They would never be able to afford that at higher prices. I also know of a couple people who had to quit attending because even though Cole works hard to try and keep the costs down, it's just too much for them.
I love volunteering at the clinic. The doctors are awesome and extremely knowledgeable. They share information, tips, helps with the patients, so it seems I learn something new every week! The patients are marvelous. They may walk in a little “cranky” but after their pain is lessened, I get to see the great people that they are!

I feel honored to have volunteered with Free Range Health. The treatments touch lives of people around those who receive them, much like ripples in a pond.
I've been receiving acupuncture for over twenty years, so I have a wide range of experience with different doctors. Dr. Alexander far exceeded my expectations in not only his skill and professionalism, but also in the level of caring in which he treats his patients. He has an excellent bedside manner. He listened to and addressed all of my questions and concerns. He also thoroughly and realistically explained my prognosis which, quite honestly, was quicker and more positive than I expected. I understand that my chronic issues may take a bit longer to address, but I have the utmost confidence in his ability to resolve them thoroughly. I highly, highly recommend visiting a Free Range Health clinic to anyone wishing to try acupuncture for the first time, continue a course of treatment, or to integrate holistic healthcare with western medicine.
I happened upon Free Range Health when they were doing acupuncture at a Senior Center in Marysville, Washington. I was so impressed with how sensitive and knowledgeable Cole and his colleague seemed to be. The patients were lining up and some talked to me after about how much the treatments helps their anxiety, pain and overall well-being. Having not tried the treatment myself, I can't attest, but I can say it really stood out to see these patients with such glowing reviews. The way in which Cole treated them, so sweetly and with such care, was extremely inspiring.
After talking to Cole, he mentioned needing someone to work on their website. In this capacity, I got to speak to board members, volunteers and doctors and I was so greatly impressed. Everyone was knowledgeable, but of equal importance, they all believed so strongly in the project, which again, was extremely inspiring. The idea of giving affordable treatments to people who have limited access otherwise is just...in a word, fantastic!
Free Range Health is an organization that is passionate and professional about bringing alternative healthcare to underserved populations. As a board member, I have been so proud of the progress the organization has made in just a few years time. We service over a 100 patients from Lynwood to Darrington with natural healthcare & pain support - and have so much fun meeting all the wonderful people as we do it!
I have suffered with severe plantar fasciitis and a heel spur for nearly a year. I had to forgo my exercise classes and work outs due to the pain it incurred. I became depressed and felt isolated. I tried everything my DR said to do, went to a Podiatrist, bought expensive orthotics, expensive shoes, tried chiropractic therapy, physical therapy and massage. As a senior on a small fixed income, this disorder was causing me extreme financial and day to day living issues. As the weight piled on and the aches and pains from lack of exercise increased, I became more and more depressed.
Then I heard about acupuncture sessions at the Lynnwood Senior Center for an affordable price . I have wanted to try acupuncture but it was out of my price range.
I signed up and began treatments! Dr. Cole and his assistant are amazing people!!! Patient, kind, understanding and they seem sincerely interested in helping those who come to them get great results and get their healing process started!!
I have had amazing progress with the acupuncture treatments and now walk pain free and have started going back to a few of my exercise classes once again!!! I now feel like a part of my life is back, the part that keeps me aging healthier by being able to return to exercising , walking and being involved!!
Thank you sincerely Dr. Cole, and for the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful program that is offered!!! I am keeping up my acupuncture sessions!! Pam Ryan
Dr. Alexander was enthusiastic about service delivery and his organization's mission from the first time we communicated. He is committed to increasing access to care in our shared community and it shows when you get a chance to interact with him. A donation to this organization would help make a real difference!
I coordinate the Programs and Events for the Snohomish Senior Center. Dr. Cole Alexander does group acupuncture sessions in our library (we have over 700+ members). Our members report remarkable levels of relief from his treatments. He is kind, cheerful, friendly and always professional. Acupuncture is the most successful program that we offer and we are honored that he chose our Senior Center. -Brenda Chovanak
I had a history of 4 plus years pain in my left SI joint. I tried PT, massage, Chiropractic care but to no avail. When I had to opportunity to set up an appointment in my local area I did. My first visit I felt temporary relief but it still bothered me when standing for any length of time. On my 2nd visit my symptoms completely went away and I felt great. He did 1 more treatment on that area and then we moved on to my insomnia.
We are still working on the insomnia and I will write another review giving an update at a later date.
As far as my SI joint is concerned he worked wonders. I did have a relapse when my husband taught me to use a weed eater but with 1 session it was feeling better again.
This was my first experience with acupuncture, and I must say, I was amazed at the results! Dr. Alexander takes the time to explain the procedure and answer any questions you may have, making his patients feel very comfortable. As we progress with treatment, I feel so much better, and have more energy, which is a nice bonus!!
I would recommend Free Range Health to anyone looking for alternative medicine solutions.
