Mission: Free for Charity has a simple mission with broad implications. Reduce costs and increase revenues for nonprofits; putting that money back into their charitable mission where it belongs. This review is for Free For Charity, https://freeforcharity.org/ - As a non profit myself I desperately needed hosting for our website after being sucked in by the unfair tactics of GODaddy. I felt rescued after finding how hard it was to find free hosting for charities, and have saved my non-profit money they didn't have. Also I find that Clarke Moyer is very helpful for people wanting to grow their non-profit. This is a great business to get affiliated with if you are passionate about non-profits!

I have been working at this charity ever since my mentor in my robotics club brought it up for learning even more about how the world works, and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. The people here are wonderful, kind people who truly just want to help other non-profits with their website-related troubles. Ever since coming here I have learned a variety of skills to follow my career choice, including: web design, programming in various languages, and various other skills. With all of this, Free for Charity was one of the best things I have done, for me and the people in my community.

I found this charity through my programming mentor, who is the volunteer manager at the charity. When he came to the programmers to ask if they would volunteer, many of us decided that we would like to help. FFC makes websites for other charities, without them many of the websites for charities in the area would not exist. I do believe they are a necessary part of the charity community here in Cochise county, without them other charities would have to waste tons of money on professional web designers, or would end up having no web presence. In this day and age web presence is everything, and without it, it is almost as though the charity doesn't exist. What this charity does isn't the most fun work, but in this day and age is all too necessary.

I started volunteering here back in June, and I gotta say it was an enjoyable experience. I learned some cool skills, such as the basics of Salesforce and time management. The other volunteers in general are nice and pretty easygoing. My only complaint is that the computers here aren't the fastest when you're trying to do work, so I would suggest bringing your own laptop. And on a fun side note, we generally play Fate Core like every weekend which is a lot more fun then one would think at first.

Since volunteering for Free For Charity I've gathered skills that will stay with me for life. I've learned web development, web hosting, general office work skills, record keeping, project management, and team communication. I've also broadened my scope of programming in languages such as HTML/CSS, Python, C++ and more. On top of the skills and connections I've made volunteering for FFC, I have meet some of my closest friends in my peers here. I feel more prepared to enter the workforce after college.
