Mission: As a proud member of medstar health, medstar franklin square medical centers (medstar franklin square) mission is to provide safe, high quality care, excellent service, and education to improve the health of the community. Medstar franklin square is an acute-care teaching hospital located in eastern baltimore county, maryland. It is the largest community teaching hospital in maryland and offers a full range of services for children and adults. A seven-story patient tower with 291 private patient rooms includes an emergency department which is one of the busiest in the state of maryland. The hospitals weinberg cancer institute is a 64,000-square-foot facility providing cancer patients and their families with a broad range of oncology services, including screening, diagnosis and treatment. In fiscal year 2017, medstar franklin square had 32,761 inpatient admissions and observations, 414,746 outpatient visits, and 87,317 emergency department visits.
