Mission: The ymca is a charitable association dedicated to building healthy spirit, mind, and body. The franklin county family ymca is an association of members, volunteers, contributors, and staff, putting christian principles into practice through programs that promote healthy lifestyles, strong families, positive youth development, community strength, and international understanding. Ymca's are for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages, and incomes. The ymca believes we all need a place to belong a place where we genuinely care about one another, where we pull together for a common cause, and where we treat each other with the ymca core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Programs: Health and wellness and helping people of all ages and abilities develop health in spirit, mind and body is at the core of the ymca movement. The programs are designed to help people create realistic goas for self-improvement and emphasize disease prevention through regular exercises, proper nutrition, stress management and health education.
childcare programs - the ymca provides high quality childcare with comprehensive activities for preschool and school age children drawing on diverse members of the community. The ymca day camp program provides a lasting experience of personal enrichment. The ymca offers adventure and learning activities that provide challenge and promote spiritual awareness, mental development, physical well being, social growth and self respect. Woven into the fabric of the ymca mission is a commitment to strengthening families. Ymca childcare programs relieve the burden of balancing work and family and make it possible for parents of children in the area to remain gainfully employed, knowing that their children are thriving in a safe, developmentally sound environment.
