The best thing that happened to Chapel Hill's art community recently. In just a little bit more than 3 years this gallery presented almost 200 artists, mostly local and almost all NC. Shows are changed every other month and are always accompanied with many talks, presentation and events. The quality of artwork is very high and the gallery is always beautifully curated. It is a very warm and inviting place.
This vibrant, eclectic gallery in the heart of Chapel Hill attracts professionals, students, artists, and the general public with timely, well chosen exhibitions and a community outreach program that attracts all ages. It is good to see ceramics, fiber arts, wood, and metal shown along with painting. The ceramics are of particularly high quality, appropriately so because of the importance of North Carolina as one of the most important ceramic-producing areas in the country. Frank is a great asset to Chapel Hill, and its location on Franklin Street makes it easily available to everyone, particularly out-of-town visitors and students.
Check out this exceptional gallery on famed Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, N.C. FRANK packs a lot of great art into a beautiful space, with ample lighting and exposed brick walls. Featured artists and special themed exhibits change monthly. Thursday night Salons offer artists' talks, musicians, poetry readings, improvisation performances and more. The quality of the artwork is excellent, whether it is jewelry, pottery, glass, fiber art, furniture, sculpture or various media paintings, FRANK has it all. Go see for yourself!
Great gallery with wonderful outreach, active board/volunteers. Very efficiently run with high quality art/craft. A real benefit to the community.
Represents NC and local artists from national to emerging. Really good quality work.
Plays well with others...Ackland Museum, kids programs, speakers/forums/etc. A great resource for artists beyond showing work.
This little gem is mingled with pizza parlors and t-shirt shops on Franklin Street. Operated as an artists' cooperative, the gallery offers a selection of sophisticated local arts and crafts in an attractive venue. Members who staff the gallery have created an inviting, unintimidating atmosphere so that the gallery serves the town as a place to go to experience the art rather than just to make an occasional purchase. Visitors of all ages stroll through with baby carriages, backpacks or walkers, iced drinks and frozen yogurt in hand. Many visitors are from out-of-town, but Thursday evening salons draw in locals who want to learn more about art or just satisfy their curiosity. The gallery serves Chapel Hill well, not only with the quality of its artworks but also with the spirit of community that it generates.
