I have recently joined Fox Valley United Way as an intern and it has been a rewarding experience thus far. Mission: Fox Valley United Way is committed to ensuring that all families in our communities have equitable access to opportunities and resources supporting positive health, education, and financial outcomes. We mobilize the collective power of community resources to advance lasting solutions and measurable change for the most urgent issues. We partner with local organizations to build a strong and vibrant community. We invest in essential programs supporting school readiness, healthy families and positive financial outcomes.
Target demographics: We encourage businesses to give their employees an opportunity to financially contribute to social services agencies that support our community through a Workplace Giving Campaign. We accept direct donations from local, regional and national businesses supporting positive change in local communities. We enable individuals/groups to give cash and non-cash donations through our secure online donation platform. Giving community members the opportunity to help their neighbors in need and impact positive growth in the community they live and work in.
Geographic areas served: Fox Valley United Way service area Central to Southern Kane County and Kendall County Illinois including: Aurora, Big Rock, Bristol, Campton Hills, Elburn, Geneva, Hinckley, Kaneville, LaFox, Little Rock, Maple Park, Millbrook, Montgomery, Mooseheart, North Aurora, Oswego, Plano, Plattville, St. Charles, Sandwich, Sugar Grove, Wasco, and Yorkville.
Programs: 2-1-1 - the number you call when you need answers in times of crisis or everyday necessities. SPARK Early Childhood Collaboration - Our partnership with area school districts works to ensure that all local children receive quality preschool education, setting the stage for success in school and beyond. Kendall County Dolly Parton's Imagination Library - Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails children enrolled in the program a free high-quality, age appropriate book monthly from birth to age five. Grantmaking to Community Impact Partner Agencies - We financially support and partner with local social service agencies around a shared agenda. These Partner Agencies provide direct services and resources to our neighbors in need. Volunteer Fox Valley - Our virtual volunteer resource center for volunteer opportunities throughout the Fox Valley Region. Student Scholarships - Supporting Waubonsee Community College students who are pursuing an early childhood degree to ensure that young children are guided, supported, and nurtured in their early learning. SingleCare Prescription Drug Card - Our prescription savings card helps community members access affordable prescription medications, ensuring greater health and financial stability.
