Mission: The historic fox tucson theatre enriches the community by providing a venue for extraordinary events and programs that excite, entertain, educate, and engage our whole community. The theatre was returned to community use with a grand re-opening on december 31, 2005. The fox is one of a dwindling number of historic theatres still in existence in the united states and is the finest example of its kind in arizona. In light of this exceptional status, it has been designated as a nationally significent building on the national register of historic places. With a seating capacity of 1,200, the fox blends southwestern art deco with mayan, egyptian, and native american-inspired decorative elements. It is a multipurpose cultural arts facility offering live performances and films with state-of-the-art technology and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The fox tucson theatre is known throughout the u. S.
