In December 2012 I was diagnosed with endometrial (uterine) cancer. It was a rare and aggressive type, and already an advanced stage requiring surgery and then chemotherapy. As I searched for answers, all I could find were support groups for ovarian or cervical cancer. Nothing for uterine. But then I found the FWC, the ONLY national organization devoted to ALL women's "below the belt" cancers. There is a wealth of information on their website, brochures covering everything from clinical trials to all the different gynecologic cancers, and support. They also offer FREE survivors courses around the country offering information on the latest research and treatments, survivorship, sexuality, and living after diagnosis. And did I mention they are free? All run by gynecologic oncologists and their support teams. I have been supporting them since 2013 by fundraising through the National Race to End Women's Cancer held every November in Washington DC.
