Causes: Animals
Mission: To promote education and excellence in veterinary dentistry through education, training, support of scientific research, advocacy and service to the public and to make charitable distributions to support such purposes.
Programs: In 2016, the foundation for veterinary dentistry became the uniting force to finally bring under one umbrella public education, outreach, student chapters, student wet-labs, scholarships, fundraising, the journal of veterinary dentistry, research grants, continuing education through the annual veterinary dental forum, and community service projects of the avds, academy of veterinary dentistry, and the american veterinary dental college. The foundation for veterinary dentistry had over 950 attendees at the veterinary dental forum for continuing education with over 10 scholarship recipients. It distributed over 800 journals and supported 17 student chapters with over 500 students. The foundation supported two research grants and funded continuing education with the american veterinary dental college and the forum. With a grant from petco and additional funds from the foundation, two make-me-smile clinics were held, one at the heart of the valley animal shelter in bozeman, mt, the other for the lake superior zoo in duluth, mn.
