Causes: Health, Medical Disciplines Research
Mission: Education, prevention, and outcomes research focused on the identification of factors contributing to prescription pain medication abuse in working and military veteran populations suffering from traumatic nerve injury, neuropathic pain, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder.
Programs: We followed 800 veterans and laborers suffering from traumatic nerve injury, neuropathic pain, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder into a multi-year outcome study consisting of completion of self-administered health, well-being surveys and pain surveys. The outcomes research is focused on the identification of treatment factors contributing to the reduction of prescription pain (narcotic) medication abuse in military veteran populations.
we educated over 100 people on prescription pain medications about the risks and dangers of pain medication addiction.
this year we entered into a collaboration with gifts for life and regenerative medicine association of hawaii to enable us to share our last 10 years of data and create a larger global platform to identify the best science, medicine, and technology to address pain and disability without risk of pharmaceutical addiction.
