Mission: The foundation for rowing education, inc is a national outreach, not for profit organization that provides educational outreach programs promoting safety in the sport of rowing, presented in local and regional settings with certification earned from us rowing (national governing body for the sport of rowing). The foundation strives to educate while providing state of the art information on all matters related but not limited to: on the water safety, physiological methods, equipment upkeep, safe boat transport, training, (including age appropriate training for the aging body) general physiology and organizational administration
Programs: To provide safety, and risk minimalization in the sport of rowing. Specifically, the foundation instructs coaches, rowers, volunteers,athletic directors,and organizational administrators in the safe practices of the sport of rowing. The foundation is educational in focus and teaches skills which have here- tofore not been taught thorougly. The foundation also has created a national outreach rowing program for inner city youth called row for all, designed to increase awareness of healthy life choices, fitness, safety and nutrition in inner city youth. The foundation also educates coxswains, trailer drivers, launch drivers and coaches on safe practices. The organization teaches the rules of the sport, the rules of the road and the waterways, the legal issues, insurance questions, rescue and emergency plans and awareness of hazards and how to deal with them. The foundation stresses the importance of lives under one's care (especially youth) and how to run a safe regatta, practice, boat transport or motor craft excursion.
