Causes: Health, Medical Disciplines Research
Mission: The foundation for orthopaedic research and education, inc. ("fore") has as it's primary mission the advancement of orthopaedic knowledge through research and education, with the goal of improving the diagnosis, treatment, and care of all persons with musculoskeletal disorders.
Programs: Clinical research:fore has a commitment to excellence in clinical research. Since it's inception, the clinical research department has rapidly expanded and now conducts orthopaedic clinical research in the subspecialties of hand, foot and ankle, knee, hip, spine, shoulder and elbow and sports medicine. Fore is dedicated to performing high quality, ethically sound and scientifically meritorious clinical research that will advance orthopaedic treatment and patient care. Researchers at fore completed 27 research projects during 2014. Fore researchers published the results of 26 research projects in peer-reviewed journals during 2014.
continuing medical education (cme):the cme department of fore facilitates improved patient care through education activities that maintain, develop and enhance knowledge, skills and professional performance in surgery and care. The accme- accredited cme department is designed to provide administrative oversight and program coordination for continuing medical education for fore. Fore is dedicated to promoting lifelong learning through the provision of educational experiences for physicians and other health care professionals. For financial accounting purposes, fore reports as income the value of donated services for uncompensated appearances by professionals who conduct cme sessions. No such contributions were received in 2014. In addition, manufacturers of medical equipment provided the use of equipment for cme sessions. The use of the medical equipment is valued at $53,801. The value of these services are not reported in the cme revenues and expenses reported above. Fore sponsored 19 educational courses with total enrollment of 1,657 medical professionals, awarding 541 hours of cme during the current year.
surgical training center (stc):fore provides a state-of-the-art facility to train and educate healthcare professionals on the latest surgical techniques and medical devices. This hand-on training allows healthcare professionals to continually advance their surgical skills in the evolving field of orthopaedics. The training sessions provided a total of 1000 hours of instruction with total enrollment of 600 physicians.
fore had miscellaneous income resulting from its exempt activities of $75,375.
