Causes: Interdisciplinary Research
Mission: Advancing the understanding, safe use, and positive impact of chemistry to society. To accomplish the mission, the foundation will support the following goals:1. Provide information and participate in education that promotes the safe production, distribution, and use of chemistry. 2. Support and promote scientific research for science-based public policy for chemicals management. 3. Support initiatives demonstrating chemistry's contribution and benefits to society.
Programs: Safe water partnerships: the foundation provided donations for safe drinking water in haiti and honduras and for the ongoing work of the global water pathogen project. Formaldehyde research: the foundation supported research on key scientific questions about formaldehyde that resulted in several peer reviewed publications. Materials recovery for the future ("mrff"): the foundation continued a multi-year research project to identify a scalable solution to recover and capture flexible plastic packaging from solid waste programs for future use.
