The ways in which Foster Village shows up for families intersecting with the child welfare system is insurmountable. Through providing tangible basic needs, hosting monthly support gatherings for caregivers, and offering unique wraparound services, Foster Village continues to set the example for how to best serve the foster care community. The organization is truly building a much needed community beyond the system.

I love this organization! The help and love that pours out their doors on a daily basis is incredible. They provided everything our sweet kiddo needed to feel safe and cared for. It eases our minds knowing we have a support system that wants our family to thrive and overcome any obstacles that come our way.

We love this village! They help bridge the many gaps in child welfare with supplies, support and advocacy for change. Our family has been directly supported by them while we have been blessed to love multiple foster children. They always show up and support us plus the foster and bio families too. Truly an amazing organization doing hard work!

When our family decides how to invest our dollars, we always look for organizations making a sustainable impact in our community. We focus on nonprofits led by folks with lived experience who understand the challenges of the population being served. Foster Village continues to blow us away with the well-rounded, deeply relational support they provide for children and families. Their staff is incredible. They make volunteering and getting involved a breeze. And we have seen so many children and families find critical support because Foster Village has been part of their story. There's no better organization to be part of!

Foster Village is a great, helpful option that we rely on to help our youth in times of uncertainty and need. Being able to request items from Foster Village has always been a good experience. They are always so helpful! From helping pick out clothes for a family of six kids, to helping reunifying families with necessary items, it's an enormous help to have. They are always so kind and willing to listen to exactly what each family can benefit from. I always enjoy my time interacting and communicating with the team at Foster Village.

We became foster parents the beginning of this year and foster village has been a tremendous support system. Not only did they help when we first got our kid, but they have been a continuing resource! Our family goes to the monthly caregiver support meetings and love them!

Foster Village does amazing work supporting foster and kinship families. They provide everything when a child enters the system and supports them all year long. Then when its time to go back home, they support the bio parent too!

So thankful for this organization! It is so beautiful to witness how deeply they care for and wrap around families connected to Foster Care. They have wonderful resources for all involved!

Foster Village went above and beyond to support us when we began our foster parenting journey last year. We are so grateful for their support.

I am a CASA volunteer and am working with a family where the great-aunt has taken in 4 great-nieces. She gives such great care to these children. Due to the recent hail storm, the placement's vehicle was destroyed. She said she was shopping insurance for the car because the payment went up so much. She inadvertently let the insurance lapse. This meant she couldn't go to work, and the four children (great-nieces) placed in her home couldn't get to therapy and school. To repair all the glass alone was nearly $3000. She makes "ends meet" (her words) but didn't have the funds to fix her car. Foster Village generously donated and quickly helped get this family back on its feet. The great-aunt said this storm damage nearly broke her. But she cried to receive a check that truly made a difference in her ability to care for the children.

Foster Village helps to connect the community to those experiencing foster care. I love the way it gives everyone a way to help and support!

I served my internship at Foster Village. I was amazed at the amount of good they were accomplishing on a daily basis for families in our community. I loved seeing the faces of the children and caregivers as they came in the doors looking weary and careworn and left feeling loved and like their burdens had been lightened. What a wonderful blessing Foster Village is to Austin and the surrounding areas!!

Foster Village goes above and beyond, helping to bridge gaps when services sometimes have ended. Deciding to foster, isn't always easy and knowing that there's places like this, make saying yes, easier.

I have been volunteering with Foster Village for the past four years. In that time, I have had the opportunity to complete some construction projects (such as building custom shelves), landscaping projects, and have also had the opportunity to make many deliveries of beds, car seats and other essential items to foster, kinship, and reunifying families as well as to youth who are aging out of foster care. It is a privilege to be a part of the village. Everyone can do something and together, it makes a mighty difference. Thankful to have found an organization that I feel passionate about supporting with my time and resources.

Foster Village has always been there for my son and I! Always a positive reminder that we are never alone!

Foster Village has partnered with us many times as we have cared for kiddos in Foster Care. They are our lifeline when we need support or encouragement!

I love volunteering with Foster Village. They have so many opportunities for me to help others. I go with my mom on deliveries and this summer I hosted a lemonade stand to raise money to support kids in foster care. It is important to get involved in your community and even though I’m 9 years old, I can help too.

I’ve been a volunteer at Foster Village for 2 years now. I’ve been able to see the direct impact they have on foster families and the amazing work they are doing in the community. It has truly been a pleasure working alongside the wonderful people at Foster Village!

As a long term foster mother, Foster Village has been a critical piece of my ability to continually say yes to children in need of a safe space during their time in foster care. Most of the children who have entered my home have come suddenly and with little to nothing with them. Foster Village jumps in and provides the items I need quickly, in order to get through the initial days and the long term. Foster Village has also been a very important support for the children in my home who have been reunified with their families. They have provided cribs, car seats, strollers, diapers and clothes so that these moms and dads are set up for success as they receive their babies home. I can’t imagine our city without Foster Village and I am so grateful for all of the support they have continued to provide!

I’ve been volunteering with Foster Village for almost two years. It is such a joy to work with the staff and families there! Each staff member is kind, professional and has a real passion for loving and serving foster families. I see each week the difference this organization makes in the lives of families and children. Their support goes far beyond just supplying the physical needs of clothing and beds. They offer guidance, education and community gatherings for these families as well. The sense of community they provide benefits every person who comes in contact with them whether they are a foster family, kinship family, reunified family, volunteer or staff person. Foster Village was amazing when my first foster kiddo got placed with me. He was only two weeks old and I had nothing. They gave me clothes, diapers and a car seat so I could pick him up from the hospital. This organization is so needed and such a great resource supporting foster families!

Foster Village has been godsend! Truly grateful for them!

Having been with Foster Village in some capacity since it was a spark in the founders’ hearts, I am beyond blessed to see the vision become reality so quickly. Despite many existing nonprofits helping foster children and/or families in some capacity, Foster Village recognized a critical missing perspective. The model of wrap-around support and the three pillars of Equip-Connect-Advocate resonated so strongly that Foster Village has 8 affiliates in 4 states in just 5 years. Notably, a neighbor volunteered to me that Foster Village has provided critical support to her, equipping her to open her home to her second foster child.

I am kinshiping and it was a fast placement. I had nothing for the baby and they helped me get a bunch of things. Thank you for all your help. It makes it easier my little one and I.

Foster Village has supported my family through all the ups and downs of being foster parents- from supplies for that first night with our first placement, to a safe and comfortable space for all kinds of meetings and interactions, to checking on us when things didn’t go as expected- we couldn’t do this work without Foster Village keeping us going! It's demanding, grueling work that often feels too big and scary to even make a dent, but Foster Village is in the trenches anyway - without the promise of glamorous praise when all's said and done. Knowing it's changing the landscape of a troubled foster care system and the people involved is thanks enough, and the wraparound support they provide is unmatched as a result. From the moment I came across Foster Village on social media, I was impressed by their organization. They are run both compassionately and professionally. They advocate and educate well, show support in practical, trauma-informed ways, and highlight stories of positivity. Foster Village is a fantastic organization that is meeting a huge need in our community. As a social worker in child welfare, it is often difficult to find resources for families without having to meet certain conditions or criteria which are often discriminatory towards families that need the most help. I know that I can always count on Foster Village to work with urgency to provide support, resources, and physical items for the families I work with.

More than once Foster Village has overwhelmed us with help for getting started with our emergency placement. When they handed me a infant car seat along with a bag full of diapers, bottles and newborn clothes I cried! I had no idea there would be so much support. For our second placement they did it again this time with a twin bed frame and backpacks full of more older kid supplies. They also are faithful to tell stories and encourage foster parents with their social media posts, resource groups and newsletters. This non profit is a gem.

This organization was a saving grace for us. Fostering kids can be overwhelming - especially when you’re a first-timer and taking in an emergency placement of siblings. Foster village made sure that our kiddos had space saving beds, car seats and other things to support us and our kiddos.

As a foster parent, I cannot emphasis enough how critical the work of Foster Village is to the child welfare community.
The holistic support that they provide to all involved (foster parents, bio parents, kinship caregivers, and the kids at the center of everything) provides the connection and support necessary for these families to continue fighting the good fight.

Our first foster placement was a 4 month old baby coming home for the first tine from the NICU. Foster village was able to provide us with everything we needed big and small to make sure our baby was safe and well loved at home. And their support has been ongoing through their online groups where families can ask questions, get support and ask and offer things that foster kids all over the Austin area need. We are so grateful to foster village!

We have been foster parents for almost 4 years, and Foster Village has walked beside us the whole time providing an integral service to us and so many others. We don't know what we would do without Foster Village!!

When our family received an emergency placement on short notice we quickly realized how under equipped we were to care for an infant. We needed bottles, formula, diapers and so much more. We also needed a car seat to go anywhere. Fortunately, Foster Village jumped to action and helped provide us with a custom tailored care package of essentials. Their thoughtfulness and attentiveness was beyond impressive. As time has gone by and we’ve fostered more children, we’ve always been impressed the countless resources and guidance Foster Village has offered.
They are truly the guardians of our community’s most vulnerable and precious gifts.

Received emergency placement for a 7mth old. At that time we were only set up to foster kids ages 2 to 10. I reached out about 3am on an Saturday morning and received a response by 8am asking if i could come and meet at the Dripping Springs Ctr. They helped me with bedding clothes and milk for the child. I interned at Foster Village this summer, which helped me get to know and understand what their organization is all about. Foster Village does their absolute best to provide foster families and the kids with any needs that they may have. They do not hold back, their main goals are to help, provide, and make sure that everyone feels welcomed and safe. Not only do they provide supplies for local children in foster care, but they also provide an amazing support system for the children and foster parents.

Foster Village goes above and beyond in their support to foster families, kinship families, and reunifying families! After welcoming a placement of three kids into our home in the middle of the night, Foster Village was on our doorstep the next day with clothes, car seats, backpacks, toys, and support! Time and time again, they helped meet the basic needs of kids in our home and provided support to us as caregivers. It takes a village to care for our communities most vulnerable children and Foster Village is on the front lines doing so! My family and I are forever marked by the support that Foster Village has given us as they continue to equip, connect, and advocate families and children!

I have had the privilege of interning at Foster Village this past summer. In my time here I have seen how close-knit this Village really is. From the staff to the foster parents themselves, everyone is so kind and welcoming. They are so quick to lend a helping hand when a child or family is in need! Foster Village is not only a fantastic resource for foster families' physical needs, but a holistic support with a fun, caring community! My experience here has really opened my eyes to the foster system and has shown me how much a community can accomplish when they work together!

I have been working with Foster Village throughout the summer, and it is the most rewarding job I have had. Foster Village really gives all-around help to families and kids who need support, whether it be in the form of material things like clothes or less concrete things like emotional support in hard times. Foster Village has really accomplished their goal of making a "village" of support for families- not only does the organization give all the help it can, but families who have met through Foster Village look out for each other and provide love and extra help when needed. Seeing the love every family has for the children in their care is deeply inspiring, and I hope everyone can get a chance to work with or benefit from an organization like Foster Village.

It's hard to explain the difference that Foster Village has made in my life and in the lives of the children and families I work with. I am a single mom to infants and toddlers in foster care, and every child I have cared for has had individual needs, as all kids do. Foster Village has provided material support for every one of my children - everything from diapers to toys to winter clothes to an Owlet monitor for a newborn with respiratory issues. They are a godsend. More than the stuff, Foster Village and Chrystal Smith have been there for me through thick and thin, providing support, connecting me to other foster parents, and listening when things are crazy. Fostering is the hardest thing I have ever done, and I am so grateful that Foster Village is in this with me. Most of all, I think Foster Village uniquely understands and supports the WHOLE family - the foster family, relatives, and biological family, and understands the tensions and complexities of doing that. It is not "us vs. them" to Foster Village. These children and families are connected to us, and we are connected to them. The best outcomes for everyone happen when we realize there is no enemy, and the healing power of love. Foster Village exemplifies that.

Foster Village is an incredible and irreplaceable resource for the foster community. As a case manager for a child placing agency, I feel that being a foster parent is possibly the hardest and most selfless job one could take on. Often I would walk into a home of individuals that were accepting their very first placement, and while they were trying to remain calm and make the child(ren) feel safe and welcome, there would be fear in their eyes as they felt unprepared or unequipped. To be able to provide them with the resource that Foster Village, however, was one of the best blessings I could give. Foster Village meets immediate needs with clothing, furniture, or any other equipment as soon as they could possibly can. On top of that, they offer community through parent meet ups and other similar gathering. Foster Village is an incredible blessing to the foster community and I could not recommend them more.

After working as an intern for Foster Village this past summer, I have witnessed the abundance of support they pour out on a daily basis to the community. Foster Village truly lives by their mission to come along side children and families in the welfare system to be their stability and equip them with whatever they may need. I am beyond grateful to have been able to be apart of this team during my summer and see first hand everything they do to help be a village for the people. Thank You Foster Village!

Foster Village came alongside us over and over again during our foster care journey. Every time we got a new placement, they were there the same or next day with bags full of everything we needed. They also do an amazing job of connecting foster families together to walk through this difficult role together. We are so thankful for the Foster Village team!

Foster Village went above and beyond to support my family during our foster care experience. We got connected through Parents Night Out then learned of the many services they provide to foster families, kinship caregivers, and biological parents: Family Gatherings, emergency placement resourcing (i.e. cribs, car seats, clothes, diapers, etc. for kids who were removed from their homes and came to us in the middle of the night), connection with other foster families, emotional support, and so much more. We were able to continue fostering in large part due to the holistic support provided to us by Foster Village, and I will forever be thankful for the work they do to honor and dignify every member of the foster care system!

They know what it’s like to create community during those times of need and they are always available to provide the tangible items as well as support to new and seasoned foster parents.
