Through the 65 year old museum school, early childhood learning is supported by collections and combines natural and physical sciences, history, and anthropology with art, music, and literature. These developmentally appropriate experiences reached over 2,000 students last year. The museum also supports school based learning and professional development for educators. The texas center of inquiry provides educators and administrators professional development in science inquiry through intensive weekly institutes. Program service accomplishments: practitioners to be more effective by teaching techniques in hands-on learning and developments in the field of inquiry-based learning.
the omni theater is and 80 foot, eight-storied dome screen that places 390 guests in the center of the action. The theater embodies a revolutionary concept in film presentation, which combines the drama of over sized film, state-of-the-art film projection equipment, innovation tilt-domed theater architecture and the most sophisticated production techniques to create a unique experience. The museum educated and entertained over 161,000 guests in the 2016-2017 fiscal year with films such as ""dream big", "born to be wild", "tornado alley", "dolphins", "polar express", "star wars rouge one", and others.
