This group works hard to support Forsyth Parks! They are champions of park events and programs, and they support parks staff and park system efforts. The Forsyth County Parks Foundation also does fundraising to provide park program scholarships to local families and supplement local funds for projects.
I love the Greenway! It’s my favorite place to be and the mile markers make sure I get in long walks thanks to the Park Foundation! I love to go to the Forsyth County dog park to and my mom sits at the memorial tables for hours. The Park foundation does so much for the whole community, including my furry friends!
The Forsyth County Parks Foundation fills a need within the Forsyth County Park system by creating a sense of community within the parks. Being proud of and appreciative of these green spaces is fundamental to a healthy, active lifestyle and key to keeping Forsyth County one of the best places to live in the United States. Thanks, Forsyth County Parks Foundation, for making this your mission!
I grew up in Forsyth County and have been a regular user of all of our parks since I was a kid. FoCo parks are awesome, and the FoCo Parks Foundation is an excellent partner with the Parks and Rec. Our organization supports children-in-need attend camps, we have helped install important safety markers on what is likely our most used "park", the Greenway, and have helped various other items such as updating areas for "man's best friend" at some of our county's excellent dog parks.
FoCo Parks is a wonderful organization.
The Park Foundation does so many wonderful thing for Forsyth County Parks. I love the mile markers on the Greenway! They are so useful and it is always great to know that the profits are put into helping Forsyth children attend camps.
The Big Creek Greenway is my favorite place to walk and run. Over the last couple of years, there have been some great improvements to make the experience more enjoyable.
The one improvement that is directly benefitting the Forsyth County Parks Foundation is the replacement of the mile markers along the pathway. These primarily serve as safety location markers but they also provide an opportunity for individuals, families and businesses to sponsor segments of the Greenway.
The Parks and Recreation department does an outstanding job of keeping the Greenway, along with all of the other county parks, in great condition. They are out everyday during the week making improvements and cleaning up areas impacted by weather.
The Parks and Rec. department and the Forsyth County Parks Foundation work together to make sure all county amenities meet the expectations of the residents. I definitely feel like we have the best park system in the state of Georgia!
The Forsyth County Parks Foundation has worked tirelessly to support our local county owned parks. They bring innovative ideas to the table and then are willing to raise the funds to complete the project, such as signage and mile markers on many of our trail systems. They also encourage the donation of benches, etc, both in memory of and in honor to local citizens and provide a means to do this beyond what the county department can offer. These volunteers give freely of their time and efforts and our county is better because of their dedication and vision.
Forsyth County Parks Foundation has people that are passionate about making Forsyth County Parks a vital part of creating an amazing community. The Foundation brings people together through community events like Tour De Forsyth and Fly High Forsyth. Because of this effort the children of Forsyth greatly benefit through summer camps grants and the well planned park improvements that everyone can enjoy. It truly is about creating an amazing community for this Foundation.

You mentioned Fly High! Boy that was fun and hot! But, it was about the kids and that is a big focus of what we do and you surely have been a huge advocate for children. Your support of children in Forsyth and counties beyond is much appreciated!
Forsyth County parks are great. From large open parks to heavily wooded walks around the lake or river, there is something for everyone. The Tour de Forsyth ‘race’ was a great way to introduce me to a lot of parks that aren’t on my usual routine.

We have some regular racers that are loyal to the organization and parks and we very much appreciate seeing you year after year. Thank you for your support of us and FC Parks!
The most enjoyable part of being a board member of the Forsyth County Parks Foundation is seeing the surprise on the faces of county residents when they realize how much there is to offer for them, their family and friends to enjoy close to home. Through various foundation efforts, we able to put forth helpful information which reaches a large percentage of our population.
We are currently in the process of implementing two very exciting projects. One provides individuals, families and businesses the opportunity of sponsoring a section of our most popular walking trail, the Big Creek Greenway. The second project involves creating individual video clips of each park within our system. This will help further the spread of information to our current and future county residents.

It has been a great benefit to see the peace and joy families get out of the foundation programs and activities. All steps towards building continued support and pride in parks throughout Forsyth County.
The Forsyth County Parks Foundation is a true asset to our department and community. They provide sponsorships to our participants in need each year. They have conducted several very successful fundraisers including a commemorative program, greenway marker sponsor program and a virtual race program to bring more attention to all of our trails and parks. We are very fortunate to have a group of volunteers working to improve our park system for all!

The Foundation volunteers have been very fortunate to work along side FC Staff that are patient and supportive over the years and offer great guidance as new and exciting ideas are developed and explored. The partnership works due to their leadership and experience.
Forsyth County Parks Foundation is a valuable asset to the community. They raise funds to reinvest back into the community to enhance parks, greenways, and provide financial assistance to families to participate in recreational activities. The professionals on this organization are community stewards that donate their time and talents.

Again, that positive support and leadership from the top down keeps us going. It takes time to build an organization and knowing there are some constants along the way really helps!

Thank you for the kind words! We are inspired by the actions of those that have come before us and hope others will continue the work we have started for years to come.
