I foster dogs for FDR so I’m aware of the careful rigor they put into finding the right match for each specific dog. They’re compassionate and knowledgeable about dog health, behavior and training. I’m very confident about recommending FDR as a resource for dog rescue.
I’ve been volunteering for this group for awhile now. I’m a foster fail!! The process the go through to find the right fit for each dog. You should adopt from this group!!!
This rescue is amazing! I've volunteered and love what they stand for and they have saved so many dogs that wouldn't have had a chance otherwise.
Forgotten Dogs is fabulous. I’ve fostered, foster-failed and adopted from them. I’ve been to many events and they do amazing work
We are repeat FDR adopters and wouldn’t have it any other way. They rescue dogs from overcrowded shelters in state vs. shuffling around dogs from out of state. It’s not that bringing in dogs from out of state is bad, but why not try to help the shelters in your own backyard? FDR does just that. They partner with LOCAL shelters to help dogs in the area. They make sure each pup is physically and emotionally ready to be adopted—however long that may be.
I have always had dogs in my life. When I lost my previous two dogs within a year of each other, after a period of time I found myself wanting a dog again. I had followed Forgotten Dogs Rescue (FDR) on social media for some time and finally decided to apply. From the beginning of the process, to the day I brought my beautiful girl home, the FDR Team was attentive, helpful, and wonderful to work with. Their sole interest in finding the perfect home for each dog, and the perfect dog for each home, was an absolutely wonderful experience. They care very deeply about the dogs in their care and finding them forever homes. And, they go the extra mile to make sure their adopters have all the information and support they may need. It was an absolutely pleasure to work with this organization and I found the absolute perfect pup for my me. Highly recommend!
I adopted my girl Bobbie from Forgotten Dogs Rescue 3 years ago. She was hit by a car when she was a young puppy and had to drag around her back legs for three weeks before she was found by a good samaritan and brought to Forgotten Dogs Rescue. Two separate vets advised to have her put down, but FDR saw how much life and love she had despite being in such terrible pain. They saved her and gave her a second chance at life and provided her with the best medical care and gave her loads of love. When she was ready for adoption, they set expectations and vetted all potential adopters to ensure she would continue to be well cared for and loved. I will always be grateful to Forgotten Dogs Rescue for helping my girl and the countless other dogs who all deserve to live happy and healthy lives. I was inspired by the tireless efforts FDR will go to in order to help their dogs and I too wanted to help other dogs like my Bobbie. As a board member of FDR, I am humbled daily be the amount of effort and respect our volunteer team gives to each dog we rescue. Each dog that enters the rescue is treated as a priority and given the very best treatment and all the love they deserve. Every detail of our dogs' lives and health are considered and discussed. I remain grateful for Forgotten Dogs Rescue and am privileged to assist them with their daily work to rescue more unwanted and "forgotten" dogs and help them live their best lives.
A wonderful and caring rescue! They take time to make sure all dogs are going to the perfect forever home! I highly recommend Forgotten Dogs rescue
This group takes care to do the best thing for all the dogs they take charge of. A great group of people committed to making a difference and trying to break the cycle that puts these dogs in bad situations in the first place. I’ve volunteered several times for forgotten dogs and not only have I never regretted a minute of my time that I committed but I plan on doing so again and again!
This is an amaZing organization filled with brilliant folks , all passionate and committed about loving, rescuing, caring for dogs and making sure they find their best forever home . We have been fostering with them for over 6months now and it has been our absolute pleasure to be working with them. From everything vet visits, meds, doggos food - they are on top of everything and will provide with every resource you need to make sure you and your pupper are set up for success. :)
I have helped vacation foster for this organization and they are amazing! They know their dogs SO well and truly want the best for them! They're super helpful and very thorough! I never hesitate to recommend them to people wanting to help foster dogs or adopt!
Great dog rescue! I have fostered two pups for them and they have a great set of staff and volunteers! The dogs are fostered in loving homes until they are ready for their forever homes!
FDR is so completely committed to helping the furry faces that need them the most. So many dogs getting the medical care they need, the foster placement and support to thrive, and the forever families that are meticulously matched to be perfect for all involved. They are a wonderful org that I will always continue to support.
We have both fostered and adopted from Forgotten Dogs Rescue. They are timely, responsible and put the welfare and well-being of their dogs first. I appreciate their insistence on finding the right home for each dog and supporting adoptive families after adoption. We've mainly fostered new mamas and their puppies and we were provided with all of the resources we needed and gave us loads of support. Including a picture of our adopted boy as well!
We adopted our pup Loki through Forgotten Dogs and they were thorough in their application process which I appreciated knowing they were making sure dogs go to homes they deserve!
My hospice foster dog, Brandt, was in kidney failure but Katherine and Ellen were in daily contact with me (many times a day, actually) and provided guidance, resources and visits to make my experience an amazing one. Katherine found another foster to help me with daily subcutaneous fluids to make Brandt's life as comfortable as possible. When it was his time to go to heaven, several of us went to the Vet to help make his passing a peaceful one. There wasnt a dry eye in the room.
I have been a part of the forgotten dog's rescue Family for several years. They are a reputable non profit organization that rescues dogs from shelters brings them in and gets them vetted puts them into Foster and ultimately gets them adopted to the best possible families for the best possible outcome. Is. They have a very thorough process in interviewing their potential adopters, that also includes home visits to verify safe environments for the dogs.
I have also been a volunteer and transported several of our animals 2 and from the East Side of the mountains to the West side to find their forever home.
Working with them has been a blessing and there have been several times that we have been able to have adoption events and raise money and awareness to help more and more animals.
And down I will continue to work with them!
Vieda Bohem is a FDR alumni!
This rescue is the best! Very thorough in the adoption process and is happy to remain involved even after an adoption has been finalized. All the dogs that are taken in and the people who adopt the dogs are always considered family. I adopted my Pittie from FDR and they love staying in touch and seeing how my pup is doing!
This rescue always steps in when a dog is in need. I love that they take on the dogs who are sick or injured and even ones that are hospice. They have huge hearts and do the best they can for every pet that comes to them.
Hands down the best rescue I have ever had the pleasure of working with in my life. Very responsive, communicative, BEAUTIFUL dogs (and people :), what more could you ask for. What they do for these dogs is unbelievable, so glad these guys exist.
