I have volunteered for this organization and I can say that the service that this program is doing for the families in this metro Atlanta community is absolutely heartwarming. It's one thing to read the mission statement but it's another thing to actually experience what it's like for the children to go on 4+ hour long drives to see their mothers in prison or even to help them with their homework in the afterschool program. My life has been extremely enlightened through my time with the program and I can confidently say that I believe in everything that they stand for. Foreverfamily provides more than just a helping hand, they help strengthen families.

Foreverfamily is an awesome organization that, since its inception, has been a fighter--fighting for an issue that often isn't championed in society, fighting to exist with little monetary support, fighting for children too often invisible and silent. As someone who understands the trauma caused by a parent's incarceration, I'm thankful there's an organization fighting to protect the most important structure in one's development-- the family. Foreverfamily ensures that the most vulnerable and marginalized population, children with an incarcerated parent(s), are surrounded with the love of family and are given the support needed to become successful adults. In 25 years, Foreverfamily has helped more than 15,000 children beat the odds and become citizens who are positively contributing to their families and communities. THANK YOU FOREVERFAMILY!

I have worked at Foreverfamily as a Development Intern during the summer of 2012. I really enjoy the work atmosphere at the Atlanta, GA program office, and the kids in our community have so much energy! It touches my heart to be able to take the children on prison visits to see their mothers - that's when I know we are really making a difference and changing lives. You can also volunteer with Foreverfamily in the great locations Louisville, KY and Austin, TX. It is a privilege to help with the inspiring mission of "surrounding children with the love of family."
