Food for His Children is the result of it's founder risking taking a mission trip to Tanzania, East Africa, 15 years ago. Her heart was opened and enlarged by the hope she saw in the eyes and voices of the people there. Hope for a better future for their family and themselves. But how? Kerrie Holschbach prayerfully identified a means to give them a better life. Give them a milk producing goat.
Specific requirements come with the goat. Training on care, building a shelter, obtaining proper feed, and distribution of milk. Completion of requirements leads to a sense of responsibility, achieved goals, improved self worth and food for their children. Excess milk can be sold or bartered for other needs. The program allows for participants to gain additional goats which has allowed children to go to school, access to health care, safer homes to be built and better communities. Food For His Children is an amazing and outstanding program meriting wide support and recognition.
I have donated to FFHC for many years. I have watched it grow from just a handful of families and goats to the hundreds it helps today. The founders and staff have such enormous hearts for improving the lives of the poorest families in Tanzania and giving them means to support themselves and better their lives. Through FFHC, God is meeting people's physical, financial and spiritual needs and helping dreams come true.
I've always been impressed with the organization's resourcefulness, perseverance and vision. With founders and board members from the U.S., FFHC has continually overcome unforeseen obstacles, cultural differences and business requirements in Tanzania to scale its operations and serve more people.
I continue to give to FFHC because I know my donations are making a difference in ways I cannot personally. Thank you, FFHC, for that opportunity.
As a donor and volunteer, I am proud to be part of Food for His Children. I know first hand that Kerrie and Rob, staff, Board and volunteers are the most hard working, dedicated folks I have ever met. What began as a program to help families in Tanzania improve nutrition and their economics by giving them a goat, has grown and and multiplied. Under Kerrie's leadership, vision and endless energy FfHC empower peoples, gives families hope, improves health and helps people grow spiritually. My daughter has traveled with Kerrie and as a teacher has helped with staff training and worked with the local schools. The work FfHC does is priceless and I am richly Blessed to be part of God's work in action.
The great thing about Food for His Children is that God has been using all of us to bless people in Karatu, Tanzania in different ways. The most powerful thing in life when trying to help anyone is to empower people in Karatu so that they can help themselves. With the blessing from everyone by contributing money, time, consultation etc., we see God is continuing to do wonderful things. As a board member, I am delighted to continue helping my people in Karatu to have better lives than they do now especially in the rural areas.
The vision of the organization is not only to provide help to Tanzanian rather empower them to find a better way to success in life in a Godly fashion. I have watched Kerri throughout years dedicated her life and blessed Tanzanian in Karatu; as well as bring awareness that everything is possible if you work hard and have faith in God.
As a board member , I would encourage you to participate into this organization with your contribution which continues to bless more people and eliminate poverty especially in rural areas in Tanzania. Remember, you are blessed to be a blessing and together (people from US and Tanzanian), we can serve the lord with his blessings.
I’ve supported this organization for many years as a friend and supporter to its leadership team. FFHC has the utmost care for its staff, clients and community. Its leaders are responsible, honest, and trustworthy. It’s programs are created to truly serve their communities with a focus on holism and service. I highly recommend FFHC to anyone considering supporting their great mission!
I've been volunteering with FFHC for about 8 years now and have found that, while they aren't perfect, they strive to assist the poor people of Karatu, TZ in the best, most helpful manner of community development. Every year, more families are requesting help from FFHC; which is great, however the organization is struggling to get in funds fast enough to hire more local staff, train them and perform God's work in the best manner possible. I have been to TZ about 6 times in the past 8 years and love meeting with the families, understand their difficulties and seeing many of them grow out of poverty into a lifestyle that they deserve and want. Probably the most challenging part of what FFHC does is due to how they meet the needs of the community; community development takes time for change to effectively set in and, contrary to western thought, we want it now and quick--which has proven an ineffective long-term method in eliminating generational poverty. Bless this organization for sticking to their mandates and methods as it is our duty to walk with those that are struggling to walk on their own and help them realize their full, God-given potential.
Food for His Children almost is life changer Organization in our country Tanzania. I have been working with them as a volunteer since 2009 while in Bassodawish parish as senior pastor. I know many families who their lives was changed from extreme poverty and now they can afford to have two meals a day, they can send their children to schools, they are living in a good house and many things. This is not only an organization it is God's hand that feed hunger people.
Excellent organization and serving for a very worthwhile cause. They have a worthwhile job and driven to help their fellow man, being a light unto the world. They really are making a difference.
I have been volunteering with Food for His Children for the last 10 years and can testify as to what a great organization it is! The staff and volunteers do a great job partnering with families experiencing material poverty in rural Tanzania to help them transform their lives with a loan of a dairy goat. People are empowered and lives are changed because of the work of Food for His Children! They are great stewards of their resources and are committed to the eradication of material poverty by building on the capacities and skills of the villages they serve.
Food for His Children is devoted to community development in rural Tanzania. This organization employs Tanzanian staff who come alongside families in the Karatu district to walk with them and help them discover and develop their gifts to overcome material poverty. FFHC uses the loan of a dairy goat to bring about lasting generational change- and they are truly transforming the lives of entire villages! I love this organization because they are prudent with their resources and practice the principles of “helping without hurting.”
I am in awe of what this organization does for so many living in poverty in rural Tanzania! I see hope being given to its Tanzanian participants. The best part is how field officers walk alongside those they are helping to provide guidance to meet participants’ own goals.
Food for His Children makes a huge impact on the poor in communities it serves, posting stories on Facebook describing its impact on the people it serves in rural Tanzania. It’s all about giving hope for a better life.
I have been supporting Food For His Children for 3 years. I am a volunteer, donor, have been able t travel and teach our staff, and I am a board member. After working with other international non-profits, I found one that I believed in how they were empowering the people of Tanzania. Others choose to send teams and to do things for people. FFHC empowers them with a goat. They walk alongside the Tanzanian people to set and reach goals. Their goals are to send their children to school, to build a better home, and become all God created them to be in a country that has very little. I love the personal notes that we get from the families we help support, and the amount of updates and videos make me feel very connected. Food For His Children is an amazing organization, and I am proud to be a part of it.
This organization helps those in the most need. It helps them overcome the cycle of poverty. They are not just a "temporary hand out or temporary fix". FFHC helps families have hope for a better future.
I first learned about "FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN" about 8 years ago at church when Kerrie gave a presentation at Hosanna church in Bursnville, mn. She spoke with such passion about the "GOAT" ministry she was starting in Tanzania, Africa that I just knew that I had to help. "FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN" has grown from one person with a vision to helping hundreds of people and from a part time job to a full time one. I spent some time with her 3 weeks ago and I can tell you she is just as passionate to day as all thous years ago. she is a young lady that has been touched by "GOD" to help his CHILDREN and she is doing just that..
If you have a heart to help people have a better life then I can think of no other ministry to fund.
I was a pastor in qurus 213 - 2017 FFHC helps a lot to make people enjoy life by increasing their economy status for having a good goat and very nice supervision how to keep goat and get a nice profit on it.
It's a nice nonprofit organisation.
Pastor George Mamuya
Kerrie is the hardest executive director I have ever worked with. She is creative, energetic, is constantly working to care well for her staff and her mission, always open to new thoughts and ideas and is a learner. I respect all she has built and breathed life into her mission, helping hundreds of families in Tanzania.
I would like to recommend, "Food for His Children", as an established non-profit that is a christian based organization. They work in the Aruza Tanzania area of Africa and provide a pathway for poor families to receive a young milking goat for them to raise. With, time, and training skills provide through FFHC, they can provide milk for their families and schooling for their children. They had a really good video this year that can tell the story better then I can. Please check out the video about , "Bernadeth's Story" by FFHC - Dave Peterson
I absolutely love the model of this organization and how it’s structure walks alongside individuals, families and communities to reach their full potential. I have watched people grow and develop, from hopelessness and brokenness, and transform into people with dignity and presence in their communities, building the confidence necessary to develop their personal and communal voice for good. A change in one person will and has made incredible contributions to family units and communities. Simply beautiful.
Food For His Children does a great job of helping people physically, mentally, and spiritually, working within the Tanzanian culture. The leaders are passionate about serving and do it well!
I’m so impressed with this organization which began as just an dream and has grown into something amazing! Giving the gift of a goat and training has transformed so many lives in Tanzania! I love how they teach people how to care for their goats and yet have expectations for each family to also share a goat and teach others too! God must certainly be smiling down on FFHC!
This is my favorite mission because they do so much to connect me to the missions with their work on Facebook and other communications. I feel like I know exactly how my money is being spent. What they do is train families how to care for a goat, and then give them a goat. The families served do not seem to be starving, but they do not get enough protein. When the children add goat milk to their diets their health dramatically improves.
I love following this charity because they are so good at communicating what they do and the impact it has on lives of real people in Tanzania. The idea is brilliant...give a family a goat and training, and then the family gives back a baby goat after their goat has had a few babies. The family's herd keeps growing. Also, the goat milk is extremely nutritious for the children. It is great to see more children in school and brick homes being built.
I've been supporting Food for His Children for the past few years and find their work to be so inspiring. Kerrie and her group have such a great organization that puts so much effort into directly improving the lives of those they help by not just giving them resources, but by also teaching them to be self-sustaining and to pay that forward. The stories of the people they help and the work they do are so heartening.
One day I went to interview Pastor Kerrie for a video about Food For His Children. The last thing on TV and I headed out the door was a commercial for an expensive SUV vehicle and how we all must have one. Then Pastor Kerrie told me about how people's lives in Tanzania can be helped tremendously with just the addition of a goat. And it doesn't cost very much to help an entire family with just a goat. I went from day-dreaming about a new Range Rover to just wanting to help a family far away. Thank you, Food For His Children, for all that you do to make this possible. I know that families will be helped thanks to you Pastor Kerrie & Rob & the entire FFHC team! Thank you! Bob & Susan
Keep up the great work, Kerrie, Rob and the entire FFHC team here and in Tanzania! What a great thing you are doing in helping the poor. Thank you. I stand with you and applaud you and your wonderful efforts.
Food For His Children is a great organization that is providing outstanding support in rural areas of Tanzania. The founder and executive director Kerrie, her husband Rob and the staff are very passionate about helping families in need in Tanzania. FFHC starts by giving a goat along with veterinary support and agricultural training. Each goat changes the lives of these families by providing milk to consume and to sell for income. In addition, FFHC transforms communities by helping them maintain a strong relationship with God and one another.
Volunteering for FFHC has been one of the most rewarding and an amazing learning experience of my life. Kerrie and Rob are appreciative, caring and encouraging of volunteers. It is inspiring to see how many were affected by their phenomenal work and the difference they are making. I am very proud to be part of this organization that has such an impact.
Phenomenal! A non-profit that is changing lives on so many levels.
Food for His Children is the real deal. Kerrie is changing lives, with one goat at a time. She has a sound business plan and is executing on that plan each day. Kerrie and the people Kerrie works with are passionate about creating lasting change in the hearts and lives of all Gods people.
Am one among thousands individual who benefit from this project, i manage to work with this nonprofit organization for not less than 5 years before starting my Law firm so i know the project very well.
Just to comment that people change and we need to become party of this changes as you have been blessed to have what you have so to save the surrounding community not only in Tanzania by in the whole world.
As we depend on God, they also depend on God as we pray they also pray but God make everyone in this world valuable, we have doctors for treatment, engineering for construction, Pastors for faith, military, police for taking care of our security, Lawyer, accountants, business people, politicians, community server, social workers and so on. All this is to make the world nice place to live by depending in each one.
We depend in each they depend from you and you depend from them to have the blessing, all we are doing is for God creation. Let’s know they depend on us and we need them to see the God, we real need them.
They’re not poor because they love to be that way NO, BIG NO the circumstance and environment made them that way.
FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN come alongside the circumstance and that environment, by starting with training the better use of environment to master the circumstance that make them poor and by giving them dairy goat for sustainable, but them alone as FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN they cannot make it, we need to participate to that changes.
Let us go alongside FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN just because we all cannot go at a site/village to help and Gadget the change, we need to trust the work doing by FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN and we participate though donating to them so they can go and save those community.
The community is blessing but they need you to show the way, Donate and you will be showing the way to make their children go to school, their life to be better than it was, to have better treatment, to enjoy being in his blessing word that your enjoying to.
Am going to DONATE TO FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN and am encourage you to do the same.
I have been involved with FFHC for about a year now, and have worked with them locally, and in Tanzania! I helped with goat yoga, Goatganza, and also volunteering my time here in Minnesota. This summer I traveled to Tanzania with them to do some teaching with their staff, and then meeting and seeing the families. This was an amazing experience, as I could see first hand what a difference a goat can do for a family. Meeting and working with the staff was truly a heart warming experience as I was able to see their dedication to people in their own country I saw how they believe in FFHC, and how goats can change lives for the better. I was able to meet children who understand how a goat has changed their family's life, and how they now have new hopes and dreams for the future. Children I met and talked with can see how having goat's milk can change their health, but can lead to entrepreneurship, savings, a new home, schooling, and much more. I have been blown away by what FFHS has done so far, and can't wait to see what the future holds for them and the families they support! I am proud to be able to support them as well as volunteering my time!
Love these guys. Have done volunteer work with them both remotely and at ground level. Not only do they make a difference to people's lives in the now, but I love how they look at the big picture continually re-evaluating how to be more effectively sustainable, always aiming for the people's best in mind. Great work FFHC!!!
I have volunteered with Food For His Children in Tanzania, Africa since 2008. Food For His Children helps the rural poor in the Karatu District by coming along side of them and helping them improve living conditions through the micro-loan of dairy goats. Families are receiving education in animal husbandry, agriculture, healthy living and long-term goal planning. Many communities are starting small business as a result of Food For His Children work. The organization is changing lives of individuals, families, and communities; impacting generations. I encourage you to learn more about the work they are doing through holistic community development. www.FoodForHisChildren.org
