As much as I support their work, I seriously question the amount of money the management devotes to direct mail, diverting resources from Food Bank clients. I don't live in CO and donated $100 on behalf of a relative. In return, I have received at least one (sometimes more) direct mail pieces every week for the last few years. That means that the Food Bank has now spent more than twice my donation to send me garbage. That also means that my $100 contribution has diverted several hundred dollars in resources away from providing food to clients and to sending me unwanted garbage. Please reconsider your priorities.
Food Bank of the Rockies is an awesome organization that helps hunger relief agencies provide food for their clients. The people that work there and all of the volunteers invest their hearts in to helping people in need. I have never worked for a more caring group of people.
Being a volunteer and seeing both the need and the gratitude of the recipients of the food provided here is very gratifying.
My experience of working at a nonprofit are extremely gratifying personally. Having been in a past situation needing assistance has made me more aware of those in need. I take personal pride in distributing quality items. I hope whoever receives an item will know that care went into packing the boxes and that they will eventually be able to pass it forward. i believe that Food Bank of the Rockies is dedicated to the cause!
This organization provides needed services and does it efficiently. My frequent interaction with management, staff and volunteers highlights the dedication and engagement these people have to the mission. I have volunteered in the warehouse and am currently serving as a board member.
I volunteered and had so much fun sorting food and boxing it to go out to the needy. The facility is huge and very clean. It was hard work, but very rewarding.
Hardest working most caring group of people I have every dealt with in a non-profit organization. When hearing stories of the people the food has helped it make you want to work even harder for this organization.
