Folsom's Hope inspires me. I have never seen a more effective effort to enhance the mission of local schools than this. Salwa Kasabian's leadership is compassionate and nurturing, yet effective and focused. She is able to connect with a young child, or a young mother, or the Superintendent of Schools. She recruits high capacity volunteers and sets them free to care for children. Folsom's Hope does exactly that, it brings hope to children and families.
I have seen first hand the care and compassion the mentors and other volunteers have for the kids and families being served by Folsom's Hope. It is genuine and is making a positive impact in the community. This program puts people in relationship with people they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to know. Both parties benefit.
Every child possesses a gift(s) & talent(s). Salwa Kasbian recognized a need in her community to help children receive additional support to their education as well as life skill training. The investment we make into our kid's is critical for their future as well as our society. Folsom's Hope vision and mission is something every community could learn something from. Investing in the future of our kid's really does involve our local community. Salwa, her team and Folsom's Hope are an amazing blessing to the Folsom community!
Folsom’s Hope helps fill in the gaps – between school and home - for children in need. Not all students have equal resources, whether that be help with homework, positive role models or funds to purchase new clothes and school supplies. This is where Salwa and her team step in to help. There are many generous hearts in Folsom and Salwa has found a way to gather them together to give hope to children and their families. If you have time to share with a young student, please consider being a mentor. Salwa will show you what to do. It’s a great way to give back and it might change your life too.
Folsom's Hope has been in action in the community long before it had a name. Salwa and her team have been working with families and children to meet needs, empower parents and students, and build relationships. Their programs give dignity to the participants and are a wonderful example of the difference a few dedicated volunteers can make in their neighborhood.
The children have a diligent, hard working advocate working for them. The director and volunteers of hope have made a difference in the families lives, but most especially the children. Whatever the need is to help children succeed, including their parents, it is tirelessly achieved through the dedication, love, and support this group has to offer. The director, Salwa Kasbian, deserves a round of thanks for her unending generosity and devotion to this community.
As someone that works in the area of community development I have seen few non-profits function as well as Folsom's Hope. They don't slap a bandaid on problems or provide opportunities for volunteers to feel good about themselves, they strive to engage the genesis of people's issues and attack holistically. Folsom's Hope is a model for other non-profits working with at-risk students and families.
As a big part of my job, I work constantly with families and teens. Folsom's Hope is a great resource for me that I use all the time. It seems Salwa has an endless supply of contacts and has a pulse on the community. She is extremely caring and very easy to work with.
I love living in Folsom and enjoy working with our youth. Folsom Hope is a perfect way to give back and help students succeed. As a former school counselor I am so impressed with how Salwa and her team have organized such a great group of volunteers to make this organization a success. I am proud to be part of Folsom Hope.
