Mission: Improve the lives of children by providing strengths-based foster care, adoption, and mental health services that promote the permanency, safety, and well-being of youth.
Programs: The program celebrated its 25th year anniversary this fiscal year. The program has grown with an increase in the average number of children in care and the number of special needs placements, serving the largest number of children in its 25 year history this past fiscal year. The program saw a 100% increase in placements of children ages 10+, and a 40% increase in treatment level of care placements. Assistance is provided to families through mentoring, support group for adoptees and birth children of foster parents, and an active foster parent advisory board. Trauma informed care trainings are part of the ongoing training schedule for foster parents and employees to increase competency in trauma-informed care principles.
the bh services were provided for children in the foster care program, as well as children from the community living with their biological, adoptive, or foster families. The outpatient program continues to grow, providing services to the highest number of children and families in its history this past fiscal year. Community clients continue to be an increasing percentage of the total clientele. Clinicians in this program are highly trained in trauma-informed care and uniquely specialize in the use of play therapy.
