I volunteer in the rescue and love playing a small part in supporting the mission of Fluff Rescue. So many dogs and cats have gone from a death sentence to finding a forever home because of this rescue. Once with Fluff, these animals are assured of receiving the best care until they are adopted. Rescue work takes dedication, a big heart, and lots of money. It is not easy, but making a difference in the lives of animals is the best work there is.
I joined the Board of FLUFF in 2019 because I was impressed by the dedication and professionalism of Kimmy Chandler and her entire staff/volunteers. Amazing group truly dedicated to the well-being of the animals in their care and finding them appropriate furever homes.
FLUFF began as a family owned and operated Animal Rescue in 2016. Since the inception, love and heart are the driving forces behind everything that we do. Not only does FLUFF believe that every animal deserves a chance, but that our role as humans is to care for these animals who have been abandoned, left helpless, hungry and afraid. FLUFF Rescue is a community funded, volunteer operated asset to the Tampa Bay area. The thrift store supports animals in our care, and we are blessed to be a part of this rescue!
I met Kimmy, the Founder of FLUFF when my church was looking for a local animal rescue to help and do a blessing of the pets/adoption event at our church. I have been hooked ever since. I started out volunteering where ever I was needed and as time allowed, It did not take very long for me to start fostering for FLUFF. I then took over the adoptions and I still help out at FLUFF on a regular basis, maintaining all of the rescue animals medical information, scheduling their vet appoints and coordinating transportation for them among other task as need to assist where and when I can. Love this mission and all the others that give of their time, homes to foster the dogs and cats and donate to help the rescue continue their mission of saving as many lives as possible. I also currently serve as the Secretary for Bluffs Board of Directors.
I first learned of FLUFF Animal Rescue by wandering into their Re-Tail store. I loved it. Better than "thrift" shopping. Such great deals and high quality items. Then I got curious about all of the animals. All $ raised in the Re-Tail store helps the animals. So I inquired about volunteering. I ended up with several roles helping with video and marketing creation, as well as transporting animals and working with the events team. Who wouldn't love Yappy Hour? As a transporter, we help to save dogs from high kill shelters and give them a chance at a good life. All animals are vetted before adoption so that, for now, also requires some transportation to and from the clinics.
At FLUFF, there is something for everyone. You can get as involved as you want. If you don't have the time, maybe you can foster or donate. I love this rescue and all it stands for. Looking forward to a bright future with them.
I have volunteered from the onset of one of the most heartfelt contributions to society in our area. The rescue of so many animals that ultimately rescues people of all ages. This by helping people keep their pets in their family when possible, if not finding a loving home for the pet. Also Educating the public on many issues we have in our animal over population.
I could go on and on with the value of this organization. The leader in all this is our Lord. Keeping Him at the helm has led this rescue in many positive ways.
