THE BEST RESCUE EVER! I have adopted three dogs from Florida Yorkie Rescue. Each dog arrived totally vetted and completely healthy. I even adopted a Senior at the age of 12 who is doing beautifully right now. This is a fabulous and caring Rescue who stands behind their dogs. They are one of the few Rescues I have ever heard of who will take their yorkies back if a family wants to return it for whatever reason, even ten years later. This speaks volumes for the kind of Rescue this group is!

FYR is the most caring group of people I have ever come in contact with. They take the best care of the animals before you even get to meet them. They also make sure that the match between the dogs and their new families is best for all involved. I have adopted three dogs from them in the last few years and have been thrilled with my new "family" Thank you for all that you do

I recently adopted two dogs from Florida Yorkie Rescue. I have never met a more caring group of volunteers. They truly want the dogs to find a perfectly matched forever home. They take the time to meet with each family to make sure the surroundings are safe and loving before letting the dogs go to their new homes. The medical attention they give their dogs is amazing Most of all, it is an organization run by volunteers so I know my donation will end up being put to good use to help the animals not to big salaries.

In 2014 we adopted a tiny dog from FYR. We love her so much!! Their primary mission is to guarantee the long term health and happiness when placing their dogs. Sometimes this means everyone who applies is not approved. Their team travels near and far to help these precious little souls! From bottle feeding puppies to nursing injures animals, they are the best of the best!

This is a wonderful organization. They take in abused and neglected little Yorkies and other small dogs. They rehabilitate them both physically and mentally... they then find wonderful homes for them, screening applications carefully for that perfect new forever family and home....I have been a transporter for them in the past. They are a very special and loving Rescue group, going that extra mile for these unfortunate dogs. I can’t say enough good things about them!

This is a FIRST CLASS Rescue Group. The care given to these little rescue's is beyond excellent. These babies are given total care and love from the moment they are in the Rescuer's hands; this includes lots of love, total rehabilitation to complete medical care and treatment. It is beyond A First Class Rescue...

It is such a pleasure to work with such wonderful loving and caring volunteers...Everyone I have ever come in contact with are wonderful people wanting to rescue abandoned babies.

It is a privilege to be part of this wonderful group of Volunteer's.

I have followed Florida Yorkie Rescue for about 5 years. They are the only Rescue I have trusted to take in Yorkies I knew needed to live out the rest of their lives in loving homes. And, when I made the call, Florida Yorkie Rescue wen way above the norm to secure these dogs. I would trust Florida Yorkie Rescue with my own Yorkies.

After losing our 12.5 year old Yorkie to renal & heart failure, after a few months, we contacted Florida Yorkie Rescue to adopt a Yorkie. The application was easy. A home visit was made to insure there was a safe environment, our vet was contacted to insure good health care, if needed. We were offered the chance to adopt a healthy 2 year old little girl, Scarlet Jane. It has been almost 2 years since that happened. Since then, I have had the opportunity to join their volunteer group & felt much self satisfaction with fostering and transporting surrendered yorkies. This organization is just wonderful. They take in any Yorkie, Maltese, mix that has a need & gets the medical help that they need to become adopted. They survive strictly on donations. The first photo is of our lost baby, Sarah. The 2nd is of our sweet Scarlet Jane.

Florida Yorkie Rescue is one of the most caring and concerned rescues out there. No fur baby is turned away (if possible) and they go to great lengths to match family to yorkie. They have rescued from some of the most horrible conditions, care for and heal these pups then place them in the best fit home. I love their attitude and conviction to rescuing Yorkies.

We have adopted two babies from FYR. Dasher has been with us almost 7 years and Baxter just over a year. Couldn't ask for better support from a rescue. Baxter needed surgery before they would place him and gave us the choice to wait for a 2nd surgery to be done (or have done after we adopted) Their focus is foremost about the yorkies they receive and finding the perfect forever home. If I could and lived closer would be volunteering for them!

Florida Yorkie Rescue (FYR) is without a doubt the finest nonprofit animal rescue, hands down. I have had the privilege of adopting 2 Yorkies in October of 2012, Scarlett & Savannah. FYR's on-line application is thorough and detailed to assist FYR in making a sound decision regarding placing the ideal dog in the perfect home. FYR checks references, their home visit is conducted by a volunteer to ensure that the adopted dog will be living in a safe environment. All these points were important to me because FYR cares about placement. The dogs are well cared for while FYR has possession. They are fully vaccinated, teeth cleaned, etc. The small fee required to rescue helps to cover the expense of medical attention and miscellaneous fees while the pet was at FYR. I also clearly remember Kit explaining the personality of the first 2 dogs I adopted, they were and still are exactly as she said. Kit devotes her time to the care and getting to know all the dogs taken into FYR. Soon after I wanted to be part of FYR and became a volunteer. Once again, March 2014, I adopted a senior Yorkie, Willow, Yorkies are like potato chips, you can't have just one and you will never need to go any further than FYR to add love and happiness to your home. Everyone, the board members, the volunteers, the veterinarians FYR uses are fully dedicated to the well being of these dogs.
I am happy to donate to this worthy rescue, 100% of donations are used to care for the pets, Please donate and/or adopt, the pet you bring home will be well groomed, precious and ready to be loved. Check out their Website...get ready to fall in love! (See Scarlett, Savannah and Willow)

I was blessed to have found Florida Yorkie Rescue. Three and a half years I adopted 2 beautiful female Yorkies. They were in great health and had even well cared for while at FYR. The application and interview was very pleasant. Every representative from FYR was a gem, and very helpful. Because of these reasons 2 years ago I adopted another 9 yr old senior female Yorkie. Once again FYR was outstanding. I look forward to referring my friends to them and when I want another pup/dog I will definitely look no further than Florida Yorkie Rescue.

I rescued my little morkie from Florida Yorkie Rescue 7 years ago. They are the most caring group of people I have ever met. They thoroughly clear the animals to make sure they are as healthy as possible and also check perspective homes to make sure the dogs will have a good safe and loving forever home. A great big thank you to Kit and her group of caring volunteers.

The Yorkie Animal Rescue is one of the finest rescues I know. The amount of care and dedication they provide for dogs of all ages is remarkable. I own a dog from this agency and she was a healthy happy little 4 year old. Today she is 10 and the love of my life. I also rescue a male 5 month old from another rescue. He was sick from the day I got him and continues to have health problems at 10 years old also. The Yorkie Animal Rescue is by far one of the best around.

This is a true not for profit rescue. They always put the care and well being of the Yorkies first and foremost. I am astonished at the lengths they go to to save a little dog. No high paid directors here. It is pure love for the animals. I wish I had more words to express my respect for the group. Every person involved has one goal in mind and only one goal...to save a dog who needs to be rescued from, at times, deplorable conditions. I say God Bless them.

I have been involved with Florida Yorkie Rescue for years now. I am constantly amazed at the lengths they will go to to rescue a dog. The compassion and care they show is unmatched. I am normally very wary of nonprofits. But This group is just amazing and I trust their integrity 100%. I have donated dog clothes to help raise funds for them to use towards their mission.

I am very happy to support your organization and have just made a $35.00 donation. I would like to report abuse of a Yorkie residing in Palm Beach County. However, there is no link or way to report this on your website that I can find. Please let me know how I can report this and save this poor sweet dear whose mate has ben killed in an accident where the owners let it run free and it was dragged by a car and the owner refused to pay for vetrinary car to save its life.

This has been an exceptional experience for us. We waited until the time was right to adopt a Yorkie, and when we had the right environment we went straight to FYR. We became aware of FYR over a year ago, and were happy to donate to specific foster pets until it was our turn to take once of these special pups into our home.
Diane was thorough in vetting us, which is what you want when a dog is going to be placed in a home: she made sure we had a safe and secure environment, adequate resources, the ability to address emergencies, an understanding of what it means to adopt a dog, and most of all, a loving family. We are grateful there are people like Diane who make sure animals are placed correctly, and we strived to be the kind of family that meets FYR's expectations. Thank you for setting a high bar, and for caring so much about the doggies with whom you are entrusted.

This is truly a rescue group. Kit and her volunteers spare no expense, spend endless hours of love and care towards all their dogs. I have seen dogs taken in that honestly looked like they wouldn't make it through another day because of the condition they are in. I know of one person who sleeps on the floor beside a new dog to make sure he/she feels loved and is their to comfort them during the night. There are hundreds and hundreds of success stories and many happy placements with the perfect family for that dog. It is not easy to get a dog from Florida Yorkie Rescue, because they want to ensure the dog never has to suffer again with the treatment and neglect it had received.

I have been with FYR for several years. I can't say enough about how much they love these rescue babies. I have traveled to different parts of Florida to pick up rescue Yorkies and Maltese and help get them to the place where they will be cared for, vetted and where a loving home will be found. Love this rescue.

Kit and Florida Yorkie Rescue do an awesome job along with Dr. Mary. They are totally dedicated to helping these poor fur babies that need homes. They are very careful with placing them for adoption even though they may not be popular with their decisions at time... but they neve take the easy way out! They have spent endless time, money and resources to do the best job they can to help in all situations and have overcome numerous obstacles to rescue these little ones! They are number 1!

I've followed Kit and her many rescues for several years. She really loves all the little babies (Yorkies) she saves. If I had to give up my precious little girl, I'd want Kit and Florida Yorkie Rescue to find her a new home.

My friend passed away and left behind a senior Yorkie. I have 2 dogs and wasn't able to keep her. Without hesitation Kit, was fostering her and then found her a forever home.

Florida Yorkie Rescue is wonderful. Kit, her husband Jerry and all of the volunteers put their hearts and souls into saving the precious little angels that have been abandoned or surrendered by people that want a better life for their babies. No shelter. Every baby is cared for in a volunteer's home. They care for the physical and emotional injuries and provide endless love to every fur baby that comes their way.
