FUHN has been a great non profit to be associated with. They have sponsored our FFA group this year and are always willing to help offer advice and help members. I would highly recommend this group!
The FUHN FAMILY is one of many varied members, each bringing his or her own special leaf to the family tree. From the roots (founding members) to the flowering buds (the creativity), this family unit is strong. Never have I seen a collective group of people from varied backgrounds and expertise come together for the greater good of humanity. The knowledge shared, meals provided, hands on classes, service to one another, uplifting words, playful banter, and great FUHN is inspiring. A day does not pass that I do not learn something new from this wonderful group of people. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

The group has help me with many things. From sponsoring my children and their fair projects, to the recent help with Christmas.

We are truly a family spread across the state of Florida and the Administration absolutely does their best to make every FUHN member feel welcomed and at home. Florida Urban Homesteading Nonprofit is a wealth of information and a cornerstone of our great community.
Not only does FUHN provide homesteading support but they traveled hours to bring me a hog butchered and wrapped as well as holiday help. I always wish I could help in some way but I don't see how I could ever repay their kindness.
I am always learning something new from this group and they keep me constantly laughing. Great people with a great mission.
As a new homesteader these group had helped me plan, made me laugh, and have selflessly helped so many. They are my go to when I have a question or am just in need of knowledge! Thank you FUHN for everything!
Florida Urban homesteading nonprofit has helped me so much in getting started with my new adventures in a rabbitry. I got a scholarship for a breeding pair of rabbits for FFA and I am so excited. Not only that but though I have never had any troubles with questionable plants or animals, I have learned a lot just scrolling through this page and seeing other people who did need help. Overall this is an awesome organization who truly helps people in their quest for knowledge and goal achievement.

Best place to get information on homesteading in Florida on any scale. No matter if you are a beginner and starting out on an urban adventure or have farming experience- you can get great information and ideas from FUHN. Gardening, animal husbandry, recipes, canning, do-it-yourself projects; this group covers all aspects of the homesteading lifestyle without being judgmental. Great group of people who are kind-hearted and go out of their way to do right by others and lift people up.
This group is seriously the most kind hearted, caring people I have ever met. They go above and beyond to help anyone in need; whether it be with information, sponsorships, helping hands events, and more.
Joined this group when it first started, mainly to learn what I could about raising animals. As it has grown it has turned into so much more. The sharing and teaching is invaluable. The funding to help children with 4H and FFA projects is amazing. But the friendship that has grown with the members is awesome and the help to those in need is nothing short of heartwarming.
This non-prophet group has helped so very many people in the great state of Florida. Advice and knowledge....those are the two most valuable things to me and this group is ALWAYS ready and willing to share their vast amount of knowledge with their members and the community. I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have gone to this group to ask questions even before googling something because I know I will get solid, helpful, and non-judge mental advice! I have learned so very much by this group!! I learned that I actually have several very useful Florida native plants and trees on my property that I would have cut down because I didn't even know what they were!
I am new to the group. Stumbled upon them while looking for ideas to become more self sufficient. I am amazed every day with all that goes on and all they do. I have been welcomed into the family and encouraged to join in. I look forward to discovering more about all they do and being part of this wonderful family.
Wow! What can I even say about our group...As part of the leadership team I get to see a part of the group that no one else sees. The dedication of our officers and admins is absolutely incredible! Many of us put in more hours with FUHN than we do at our full time jobs. We miss weekend fun, travel and other opportunities to lend our full support to growing our community of homesteaders. I think I can say I speak for all of the team when I say that it is our privilege and honor to participate and share with all of our members and to be able to make possible the services we are able to provide.
We often feel as if we don't do enough, share enough or provide enough and we strive to do more all of the time. Our members have been invaluable to accomplishing many of our goals. You have voted in contests, shared our mission, share your knowledge and welcome other members like family. You grin and bear it with all of our questions and requests. You argue and debate with us like family does. We are family. I thank each an everyone of you for your contribution.
We have the biggest dreams for FUHN and will continue to ask for your help in the future. Again, thank you for being the most awesome part of FUHN! To infinity and beyond!
What a great group of homesteaders, and homesteader-wanna-be's! I've been a part of the group for a few months now. I love the friendship and concern that they all have for each other. I love how you can post a question about 'life on the farm', and get the right answers or be directed to a reliable source. When a member is having a hard time, folks reach out and try and help where possible. Wonderful products, livestock, homemade crafts and fresh veggies are always available to purchase. If you are looking for help to find something you need, this is the place to ask. A community garden, and several picnics with being able to sell your wares, are other events that make it great to be a part of this group. No questions go unanswered, and the support is amazing.
This is a amazing group they help my daughter to fulfill one of her life's achievements by helping her with a full sponsorship with her pig Kodak thank you guys so much keep up the awesome work guy

This is the most amazing group! I love that I can help and be a part of it. Through tedious work, I have seen so many people being educated, helped, and sponsored. This group is all about knowledge and everyone in it has something special and different to offer. It is my absolute pleasure that I can say I am a member of Florida Urban Homesteading Nonprofit!
My first experience with this nonprofit's generosity was with a call for help from a disabled homesteader.
The man lived hours away from most of the members, but people came and put in a hard days work and we're happy doing it.
The other occasions that come to mind are:
*Raffles with the proceeds going to kids wanting to participate in 4H & FFA programs.
*Christmas gifts provided to needy families for their children.
*Community garden projects.
And many more that I can't recall right now. They are genuinely good people.
One if the greatest groups I have ever had the honor to be part of !! I have seen amazing acts of kindness, education and solidarity for all of Florida's homesteaders . large and small. From raising funds for funeral expenses to rehoming farms and feeding whole familys.
I stumbled upon FUHN by pure happenstance after looking in to what I saw on Living With The Land at Disney's Epcot. I joined as just a way to ask a question every now and then as I began to plan my homestead.
What I found was a community that truly cares about people. The incredible wealth of knowledge on just about every topic, coupled with unparalleled generosity, and the genuine want to help people, makes this the greatest collective I've come across in a long time.
I will be contributing to and engaging with FUHN for many years to come.
When I first found this group I had no idea the shenanigans I would be exposed to. I thought it was just another group of similar people, but these people are getting together as a community on a daily basis. They are there when you need them, whether it is just a question or if you need someone to help you do something. I am still learning about all the things this wonderful group is doing, because they do so much! Love this organization!

I'm so pleased with how much help this group is to a newbie homesteader. I think many people want to feel more independent these days, and being able to grow part of one's own food is part of that independence. This group's members help with everything from gardening to management of chickens, goats, ducks, and etc. I really appreciate this group.

There is so much good to say about this group that it is hard to know where to start. The group assists people in starting gardens, cleaning up their property and fixing or building animal pens, supports 4H kids with generous donations and prize winning animals, and is a wealth of information on animal husbandry and gardening. People in the group are always willing to assist with information or hands on help. The leaders are truly good people, and go out of their way with benefiting the homesteading community in Florida. They sponsor raffles, group outings to assist people at their homes, and community cookouts for fellowship and meeting new folks.

Florida Urban Homesteaders Nonprofit (FUHN) has repeatedly benefitted my family & I. We are small business owners, Ma & Pa, simply trying to work & garden. Some weeks we've had to work extra, in order to just pay our employees. We hit a hard spot when husband was hospitalized. FUHN administration & members repeatedly fed us fresh farm harvest, for over 2 weeks!
Additionally, there have been multiple acts of not only food assistance, but volunteerism to help the community. Even tonight, as Hermienne bears down on Fl, I can say that FUHN admins have been encouraging members to check on, not only one another, but on neighbors as well. Plans are ready to spring into action & help other Floridians affected by the storm.
FUHN is family. Through FUHN, my husband & I have gained not just some social media friends, but because of FUHN activities, we have some real friends for life!
The world needs more people like the ones that are members of this group! Strangers or friends it doesn't matter, if you haven't talked to them in months or never, there's no questions asked-if they can help THEY WILL! It's never for anything in return or bragging rights, it's simply because they care & they genuinely want to make a positive impact on people's lives & in the world! These guys ROCK & I personally appreciate everyone ESPECIALLY the administration team.......regardless of how busy their personal lives are.......WE still matter & are never a bother to them. Thank you
Fantastic group. The members and admins all reach out helping those in need during Christmas and Thanksgiving with gifts and food for those who otherwise wouldn't have any. Members also open their doors during disasters, whether it is flooding, fire, storms and also lend a helping hand when needed to repair, clean up or whatever is needed and hold events/activities across the state.
A great bunch of people from all walks of life, but everyone respects and helps each other through a common love of homesteading. You can ask any question and get it ans9wered ten-fold, find people to buy, sell and trade anything homegrown or homemade and enjoy great events where the demonstrations are great and the food is always amazing!
The group sponsors kids in 4-H, but what is even better is they are neighbors helping neighbors. Members will step up and help another member in a tough spot without a second thought!

This group of people are wonderful. They help children in 4H and FFA. They have helped other homsteaders in the group n so many ways. They help by give food to homsteaders in need. They people who have homesteading skills teach those of us that did not have skills. They have events all over the state with the knowledge workshops and get togethers to know each other. People who have gotten into trouble in storms and other situations have only say a word and people come to help. Most of them have not even met in person until then. When ever someone on the facebook page needs help with gardening or farm animals information. There is always someone with the answers.
Love going to the fun days and learning all about homesteading and different methods used. What a great group of volunteers.
This group for the novice and not so novice homesteader in Florida is fantastic. They work hard at building community have loads of activities spread around . They work hard to support the FFA and 4H kids, have holiday drives and are working on an awesome community garden in Clermont. No question goes un answered and there are many opportunities for fun as well as learning ! Not just your run of the mill FB group but a real community of people with a heart and soul!
