Mission: The organization's primary purpose is to connect and empower local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (lgbt) organizations throughout florida, in order to share resources, skills, and information to raise awareness of lgbt issues and secure equality for florida's lgbt community.
Programs: "end discrimination project" & "the capacity building training"the "end discrimination project" was a successful public education project, which included workshops with local lgbt organizations, meetings with community, social and policy leaders, public meetings, and ongoing web-based education and training. The discussions emphasized the need for basic non-discrimination protections for lgbt people in the state of florida, including increased awareness for lgbt adoption rights. There is a continued emphasisis on adoption of nondiscrimination protections for florida's lgbt community in the context of recent changes in the florida law. Through continued efforts, "the capacity building training" is proving to be a success. This training is aimed at maximizing the organizational capacity of local and allied lgbt groups, in their respective locations throughout florida. Through this expanded local capacity, and connecting the resources of the member organizations, many important lgbt issues were successfully raised and addressed. These included school bullying, nondiscrimination policies, domestic partner benefits and the end of prohibiting lgbt adoption.
