As a member since 1987, I strongly recommend this organization. I provides education on native plants, native plant communities, wildlife that rely on these communities, proper environmental management, and landscaping with native plants. It also advocates conservation for rare native plants, high quality native plant communities.
This is not a huge organization. It relies upon donations and grants to do its work. It makes the money that it has go a long ways.
Review from Guidestar
FNPS provides education on the value of planting native. In Florida in particular, this is an important tool in keeping our environment clean and diverse, and in teaching the principles of right place/right plant with the end effect of keeping water use to a minimum. Municipalities, counties, and some state agencies have adopted the guidelines of planting native, which is testament to the validity, good science, and beauty of this program.
